AQUEDUCT – 4/7/22

RACE 1: 1-5-8-9

#1 EXCURSIONNISTE is a late runner who was close to the pace last time out going 9 panels.  He can be effective at a mile in a race with pace, and he’s likely to sit back and make one run.  You’ll get a square price here to boot.

RACE 2: 5-4-1

#5 TAP THE FAITH enjoyed a sweet trip up the rail in her debut and wound up ending a brutal trip in her 2nd start in the Demoiselle.  She returns for her 3YO debut with Lasix against a bunch of horses that have not run faster than she did last year.

RACE 3: 3-5-1-6

#3 NO BURN is new to the barn of Rob Atras after showing speed and getting run down late last time out.  He is versatile and can sit just off the pace in this affair depending on what happens in the opening half-mile.  Look for him to be in position throughout.

RACE 4: 9-8-6-2

#9 SANDRO THE GREAT returns off a layoff and moves back into NY bred company.  He showed speed last time out and faded late in what amounted to a much tougher field than what he meets today.  The win two back is undoubtedly good enough to be considered a threat here.

RACE 5: 1-2-6-8

#1 EMPEROR’S CAUSE goes first off a claim by Rob Atras after making a middle move and flattening out last time out.  The move up to the 40k level off the claim is a positive, and he figures to get a good trip stalking the pace.

RACE 6: 3-1-5-8

#3 MAGNETIQUE goes first off a claim by Bill Morey and cuts back in distance after showing speed and fading late going a mile last time out.  That stamina should help her in crunch time here, and her best prior efforts make her a major player.

RACE 7: 5-6-9-3

#5 SCOCCIATORE goes first off a claim by Jeff Englehart, whose barn has been on a tear with these types.  This son of Central Banker has been in very good form of late and figures to be in an ideal stalking spot from the start.  Look for him to be prominent throughout.

RACE 8: 1/1A-6-2-10

#1 MOTION TO STRIKE drops in class after racing inside on a surface where outside runners dominated.  He is the inside speed with Javier Castellano in the irons, and his stablemate, #1A NICHOLAS JAMES also looks like an interesting first timer.

AQUEDUCT SPRING STATS: 16: 3-7-1 $12.50
