RACE 5: 5-8-4-2
#5 BLAKE B. just might have enough of a pace edge on this bunch to take them the distance at a price. He is coming off an improved run going shorter but maintains a weight break and lands in a field devoid of early zip.
RACE 6: 3-5-7-2
#3 BIG BEAN CHRISTINE is a player from off the pace following a runner-up effort when she was close to a dead rail. The key here is timing as she has only one quick burst and cannot be asked to make any type of prolonged move.
RACE 7: 1-6-5-2
#1 WHENLOVETAKESOVER is the one to beat off a 3rd place finish against similar foes earlier this month. He dropped in class that day and ran an improved race, especially once he was taken off the pace early. A similar trip is in the offing this afternoon.
RACE 8: 1-8-6-4
#1 BUSTIN BAY was disqualified for breaking through the gate as the rest of the stalls opened last time out. She now bids to get the actual win as a likely heavy favorite for Linda Rice. She dismissed her rivals last time out rather easily and appears as if she’ll be pretty tough to beat once again.
RACE 9: 7-4-8-2
#7 DEFINING PURPOSE has spent the majority of her 3YO campaign facing better than she does today and should be tough to handle with her usual effort. If she can stalk the early pace, which is the likely trip on paper, she’ll be tough to handle in the final half-mile.
RACE 10: 5-4-9-10
#5 BELLA ISOLA is a first timer by 8% debut sire Bellamy Road out of a dam who scored 4x. She has dropped a couple of NY breds who were racehorses, including stakes winner PIcco Uno. Why not try a firster in a weak field like this?
