AQUEDUCT ANALYSIS – 02/28/2025
RACE 1: 6-3-1-2
#6 MATERIAL GIRL gets Lasix for the first time after finishing a fast-closing second in a stakes race last time out. She’ll be an overwhelming favorite to clear the maiden ranks for a barn that is surprisingly quiet this winter.
RACE 2: 5-1/1A-6
#5 BROADWAY LIGHTS will be favored to complete a chalky early double after walloping a comparable field in early December. She now gets Lasix for the first time and should be in a good spot just off the pace today.
RACE 3: 4-1A-3-7
#4 ALLOFASUDDENLEE showed good speed last out before fading and will be in the mix throughout this afternoon. This gelding has plenty of early speed and should use it to get a forward position today.
RACE 4: 2-7-4-6
This is potentially a great spot for #2 LUMENIQUE, who goes 2nd off a claim following a good effort last out. She was in for the waiver last time and is protected once again from the tag. She should be able to step forward in here and will be a square price.
RACE 5: 2-7-1-3
It’s generally a good thing to stay away from claims from low percentage barns, but the numbers fit on #2 GOLDEN PURCHASE. He is moving up in class off a claim and that’s a positive sign, so why not try him at a price?
RACE 6: 3-5-2-7
#3 KOLOMIO enters off a pair of wins for Charlie Baker and has the speed to get loose in this field. Jose Lezcano gets on board and he is excellent on the front end, so look for this one to take them the distance once again.
RACE 7: 3-4-7-6
#3 LIGHT THE WAY is dropping in class and ran a better race than it looks on paper last time out. He is quick enough to get towards the front and that makes him a threat at what should be a fair price.
RACE 8: 8-1-4-6
#8 PUCKISH returns off a break and joins the care of Dave Duggan, the circuit’s most underrated trainer. He’ll be a good price and draws nicely on the outside to stalk the pace and pounce when ready.
RACE 9: 4-7-9-2
Longshot time in the nightcap with #4 ESTHER’S SALAD, who gets a jockey switch after showing some life early in two recent starts. She was buried inside last time out and tired late, so there’s reason to believe she can improve here on a drop to the basement.
