AQUEDUCT ANALYSIS – 11/22/2024
RACE 1: 3-2-5-6
#3 CATCHPHRASE is a first time starter by Bolt d’Oro whose progeny hit at a 17% clip. The dam here was a 4x winner who also took a stake in her best performance. She is training very strongly for Will Walden, a relatively new trainer who has had success at every turn in his budding career. This one should be ready to roll on debut.
RACE 2: 3-4-1-5
#3 ST. BENEDICT’S PREP is loose as a horse can be on paper, as she exits a solid effort in the Pumpkin Pie here earlier this month. She gets Lasix back on with the class drop and is the one to catch going a mile. While this distance might be just a tad beyond her preferred trip, she is dangerous because of the pace edge.
RACE 3: 6-1-4-3
The class relief for #6 SHEHANAH is too much to overlook as she has most recently been seen against NY bred allowance company for Horacio De Paz. She is drawn well on the outside for this engagement and should have enough pace to stay within range from the outset. The price will be right as well in a competitive affair.
RACE 4: 4-6-1-3
#4 WESTERN WOLF starts for a barn that doesn’t have many 1-1 morning line faves. This guy towers over his competition on paper as he is once again protected from the claim box off two positive efforts thus far for Mitch Friedman. The speed he possesses is a major weapon and he will likely use it to establish a comfortable edge.
RACE 5: 8-6-2-4
#8 TWIRLING LULU took a ton of money on debut for Bruce Levine and showed speed before fading late. She improved next time out on turf and now changes surfaces for the dangerous barn of Bruce Levine. The outside draw is no issue as she has plenty of speed and there was obviously a reason why she took so much action in the unveiling.
RACE 6: 6-4-3-7
#6 WHISTLER’S STYLE is a major player late in the game for Orlando Noda on a massive class drop. While it would undoubtedly help this mare’s chances if there was a pace player or two signed up, but a slow paced race will enable her to stay a tad closer early. Her best races are too good for these and the class relief is significant.
RACE 7: 4-7-3-5
#4 CAROL T is my play of the day as she exits a solid runner-up effort at this level behind handy winner Mybronxbaby. She is a late runner who’ll be helped if there’s any pace on and there are a few speedsters signed up in here. If she can get a clean run of it then she’ll be a major threat in the lane.
RACE 8: 4-5-7-2
#4 COLLOQUY comes out of an open N1X allowance affair where he leapt up badly at the start and was declared a non-starter. He has been in good form of late and should be close enough in the opening stages to get the jump on the closers. His price will be fair in a competitive heat and that’s a positive as well.
RACE 9: 5-8-4-3
The move back to dirt will help #5 JUDGE RULES, who has some good back dirt form. He is a late running type who enters in good form, as he ran one of his best turf races last time out. He faced better competition in basically all of his prior dirt races and should be a good fit here at an attractive price.
