AQUEDUCT ANALYSIS – 02/22/2025
RACE 1: 4-6-1-3
The speed that #4 DEAR CHAIRMAN possesses, coupled with the addition of blinkers should make him a tough customer on the front end this afternoon. He should have no issue with the distance provided the pace can moderate enough in the opening stages.
RACE 2: 2-3-1-5
#2 RAW POWER is the one to beat right back for 10k off a powerful win last time out that continued a string of improved efforts for Rachel Sells. This gal draws the rail and should be in position to stalk and pounce in the opening stages.
RACE 3: 1-3-7-4
The slight upset could happen with #1 KID’S LAST LAUGH if jockey Lane Luzzi commits her to the early lead today. She is quick enough to assume early command and the rail draw gives her connections fewer options. That may work in her favor as she looks to go the distance.
RACE 4: 7-8-4-2
#7 STREET VIEW was third last out against better after making a middle move in a slow paced race. This race should unfold more to her liking, especially if her move is timed up a bit better by Eric Cancel. The slight class drop will hardly hurt either.
RACE 5: 7-6-4-1
#7 CONNIVING was a good second in an improve effort last time out for an underrated small-time barn. He has moved forward in three starts since being claimed and should be a square price at the windows once again.
RACE 6: 5-1-2-8
#5 FRIZZANTE won last time out but was disqualified for Linda Rice and now returns at the same class level. He has good tactical speed and can stay within range from the opening bell today. His recent form is tough to argue with and he will be a deserving heavy favorite.
RACE 7: 2-9-1-4
#2 GRIDLOCK goes 2nd off a claim and drops in class today for the meet’s top barn. She was a non-factor last time out when never involved last month. This is a spot where she can rebound, especially if jockey Jose Lezcano can get her to the early lead.
RACE 8: 9-7-4-2
#3 BEARY FUNNY goes 2nd off a claim after winning handily last time out for 15k. This is a reasonable class jump and he should be within range from the start with his tactical speed. A slow pace last time out didn’t negatively affect him at all, as he won going away.
RACE 9: 2-3-1A-7
#2 COLLOQUY is a late runner who was compromised by a slow pace last time out. He should be able to rate just off the pace in here and has upside given how well he’s run in races where he can be treated with Lasix of late.
RACE 10: 12-4-13-6
#12 SASSY SHENANIGANS is the one to catch as she returns from a break with Lasix after running a bang-up race on debut. The winner of that race came back to run in the money in stakes races and this gal should be able to get clear this afternoon.
