AQUEDUCT ANALYSIS – 02/27/2025

RACE 1: 4-1-3

#4 STONE COLD KELLY is a second time starter who showed enough on debut to be made a heavy favorite today.  The scratch of the other probable favorite will make her a massive favorite and deservedly so.

RACE 2: 3-4-5-1

#3 BACKSTRETCH ROSE is shortening up from 9fs to a mile and enters off a strong effort.  She made an early move that day and stayed on gamely.  Trainer Jorge Abreu now takes the blinkers off and she should be more relaxed early, as she was in consecutive runner-up finishes last fall and winter.

RACE 3: 1-7-2-3

#1 O P FIRECRACKER was claimed for a second straight start last time out and should be a strong late player today.  The basis of the appeal here is Linda Rice claiming the kind of horse she has excelled with in recent years – a sturdy, long-winded router.

RACE 4: 6-5-2-1

#6 MAJULU goes first off a claim for Wayne Potts following a pair of dramatically improved recent efforts.  She has enough tactical speed to overcome the outside post and should be actively involved from the outset this afternoon.

RACE 5: 5-4-2-7

#5 CERTIFIED LOVERBOY is the one to catch first off a claim by Fernando Abreu.  He has gone almost 9 months without a win but fits nicely here, especially from a pace perspective.  If he is able to get loose early, he’ll be tough to run down late.

RACE 6: 9-3-1-8

#9 GOOD MISSION is a major pace player from this outside post in good recent form.  She took a clear step forward last time out and another would make her tough to beat.  This barn has quietly had avery strong winter.

RACE 7: 2-7-8-3

#2 DOLOMITE failed at 1-5 last time out when she made a wide move off the far turn before stalling late.  She is going to be dangerous right back on a fairer surface given the wide move she made last time out.

RACE 8: 2-7-1A-5

#2 MAJESTIC MICHAEL is the one to catch here stretching out in distance off a layoff for a new trainer.  He draws well for a horse going straight to the lead, and Romero Maragh has proven quite skilled at getting horses to the lead.
