BELMONT – 5/27/22
RACE 1: 2-5-4
#2 FORTE is a firster by 18% debut sire Violence out of a 6x winner who did all of her damage on turf. He is the first foal to race, and has a slew of gate works to prepare for the unveiling. He should have some speed out of the gate to boot.
RACE 2: 5-6-4-1/1A
#5 GLORY ROAD bids for two straight wins since being claimed by Orlando Noda and will be rolling late in this affair. The speed is #6 ITS ALL RELEVANT and he is no certainty to get an uncontested lead. Noda is 23% with claimers on dirt exiting wins ($3.23 ROI) and this one has oodles of back class.
RACE 3: 5-2-6-3
#5 FROSTED OATS returns off a layoff and her lone prior try on the weeds was a solid effort. She was third behind two stakes caliber runners and did the heavy lifting being close to a hot pace. If she can get the lead here, she is a threat to go the distance.
RACE 4: 5-1-2-7
The last effort from #5 CHLOE ROSE was solid given that she got into some traffic issues at the quarter pole. The eventual winner had a free and clear run on the outside while this gal was held up, and that likely kept her from winning. She should be a tough customer here at this class level and is in strong form.
RACE 5: 1-8-4-2
#1 GET THE CANDY is the one to catch from the inside as she comes back from a layoff and enters the barn of Horacio De Paz. This barn is 19% with new arrivals to it off of 100+ day breaks and the lead is hers for the taking. If she is able to get clear, she looms tough to catch.
RACE 6: 3-7-5-4
#3 GRINGOTTS was a solid third last time out and now goes first off a claim by Bob Klesaris. She is a late running type who’ll be helped by the expected pace scenario in this affair. Her recent form is solid and you’ll get a square price here.
RACE 7: 9-3-4-6
#9 JUULSTONE goes second off a layoff for trainer Mike Maker and drops in for a tag. He adds blinkers today and that will sharpen him up in the opening stages. The presence of Irad Ortiz, Jr. is a positive as well.
RACE 8: 7-5-4-6
#7 ROSSA VELOCE goes first off a claim by Bill Morey, Jr. This barn is 28% with dirt sprinters first off of claims ($1.87 ROI) and her tactical speed is a major weapon. Look for her to stalk and pounce in this spot.
RACE 9: 12-6-3-2
#12 ROAD TO REMEMBER is back off a layoff and drops in class for trainer Natalia Lynch. She ran faster races as a 2YO than many in here have since, so there’s reason to believe she’ll move forward as a sophomore. If she does, then she’ll graduate today.
