Nick Tammaro’s Belmont Analysis – Saturday, November 6, 2021

BELMONT PARK – 11/6/21

RACE 1: 2-6-4-5

#2 GRAPHIC DETAIL is a firster who is training well for Bill Mott in what appears to be a weak looking MSW event.  He is by 24% debut sire Practical Joke and is the 5th foal to race out of a dam who has produced 3 winners.  The inside post is no great issue and he should have speed based on his worktab.

RACE 2: 4-8-3-10

#4 LOOKIN TO FLY cuts back in distance and drops in class for trainer Joe Sharp after facing considerably tougher foes in recent outings.  She was stuck behind a slow pace the last time she sprinted and should get a fairer setup today.  The quicker they go early, the better for this gal.

RACE 3: 2-1-5

#2 MISS MARISSA is the one to catch as she seeks her second graded stake score of 2021.  This filly was overmatched in last month’s Beldame and still ran credibly to round out the trifecta at odds of 17-1.  The presence of an aggressive pilot in this compact field makes her the one to beat.

RACE 4: 3-4-8

#3 CROSS BORDER drops significantly in class out of a series of graded stakes engagements and cuts back in distance for trainer Mike Maker.  Along with #4 SOMELIKEITHOTBROWN, this veteran is a formidable NY bred who has competed well against much tougher.  He should be more forwardly placed too with the aggressive Paco Lopez in the irons.

RACE 5: 9-1-3-8

#9 KREESA LA WROTE has endured two brutal trips in a row and is due some racing luck at some point.  Her new rider is very aggressive and is likely to keep her more in the game early.  She has also recently broken from inside posts and should benefit from the move to the outside as a live longshot here.

RACE 6: 6-4-2-1

#6 BIG MOUNTAIN is the one to catch for new trainer Antonio Arriaga and ran an improved race in his last start.  He has a pilot on board who is sure to take advantage of his speed, and there’s a dearth of it in here outside this son of Big Brown.  Look for him to run and gun.

RACE 7: 1-7-2-5

The debut performance of #1 SHAD NATION was nothing short of spectacular and makes him a deserving favorite in here.  The inside post and likelihood of a relatively moderate pace only adds to his appeal.  The fact he can save ground under a top notch pilot helps his cause as well.

RACE 8: 6-5-1-3

There may not be a likelier winner in the entire country today than #6 GOLD PANDA in this race.  He returns off a facile score against N1X foes last time out and this son of Goldencents has the versatility to get the lead or stalk and pounce right from the start,

RACE 9: 7-3-6-10

The pace in here should be conducive to a late runner like #7 GAL IN A RUSH with a good amount of speed entered. Whether a duel materializes is the real question, as it never seems to around here.  Should it be run at a reasonable early clip, she will be in line to benefit.

RACE 10: 12-3-11-10

#12 UNINVITED GUEST is moving to turf and is the 2nd foal to race out of a dam who was a 5x winner on the green.  Trainer Todd Pletcher sports a solid record with maiden claimers trying turf for the first time, good for a $2.25 ROI.  Look for this one to find the grass a bit greener.

BELMONT FALL STATS: 267-68-38-39         $502.60
