RACE 1: 4-5-1-6

#4 COLONIAL ROSE was a shrewd claim for 40k given the conditions she has including this 20k starter.  She is a router through and through and should be able to stalk and pounce this afternoon.  Norm Casse snagged a win here on Friday and looks to have this one primed in the lid lifter on Sunday.

RACE 2: 3-6-7-5

#3 FIVE TO TWO was out of the gate poorly last out and put out of position with that bad break.  She now stretches out in distance and should be comfortable at the 9 furlong trip.  The win two back at a mile is encouraging and she can put forth a steady effort today to get the top spot.

RACE 3: 11-3-4-7

#11 TAPIT’S LEGACY has been training well for his debut and will face a weakened field in this race after it was taken off the turf.  The work partner for this colt back in late June was debut winner Emphasis, who scored here on July 19.  The outside post is ideal going the 7 furlong trip on debut.

RACE 4: 1-5-2-6

#1 JOEY MUSCLES gets the nod in a tough 75k claimer for straight 3YOs.  He drew well on the inside and can sit just off the pace right from the outset.  The fast pace and high level competition ruined his chances last time out, so this is a real bounce-back spot for a horse whose price will be inflated.

RACE 5: 10-3-11-1

#10 MOZAMBIQUE has been facing considerably better in his three prior starts and now takes a sizable class drop.  He should fit well class-wise here and he endured a wide trip in his last start.  This gelding ran far better than it looks on paper two starts back and is going to be very tough to beat here.

RACE 6: 3-2-5-6

After the rain came in the middle of the card on Belmont Stakes eve, the inside was a lightning lane and that worked against the debuting #3 SOLO JIM.  He now returns for his second start with a good worktab and the addition of blinkers.  Improvement is expected and the price here should be appealing.

RACE 7: 5-6-1-2

#5 LONG AGO is the one to catch as she ships up from Kentucky.  She was on the lead two back when victorious against N2X competition and now steps up to graded stakes company after a strong effort in the Anchorage last time out.  That was a fast-paced race where she was in range the whole way before coming up short.  Getting the lead here would make her a major player to go the distance.

RACE 8: 12-10-11-5

#12 RAGTIME SIZZLE goes 2nd off a claim by Ilkay Kantarmaci and gets serious class relief this afternoon.  She went 7 panels last time out and chased while wide before tiring.  This is a bounce-back spot for her for a barn that has had a good start to the meet.

RACE 9: 5-6-1-2

#5 GAMBLERS TAIL is shipping in from Kentucky and those runners have done exceptionally well at this meet.  He ran an improved race last time out in a tough N1X in Louisville and has an improving pattern on Thorograph and Beyer Speed Figures as he enters the fray here.

RACE 10: 11-13-3-6

The move to dirt will help #11 ANTIETAM, who is a dirt horse that is now getting lasix and blinkers for the first time.  This son of Curtin has run well against better and should be well-backed depending on what is left in this field after the surface switch.
