RACE 1: 2-7-5-4

#2 AH CA IRA is the gradually improving type that stands to benefit from an honest pace in this affair given her running style.  There’s a decent amount of speed signed up and she should be able to settle nad make one run after really blossoming when stretched out to two turns.  Flavien Prat sticking on board is a positive sign to boot.

RACE 2: 1-7-4-3

The trip endured by #1 MY LIFE STORY last time out was less than ideal as he was stuck inside and shuffled out on the turn.  He wound up re-rallying after angling out, but the pace never materialized in that affair.  A cleaner go of it from the inside on a jockey switch to Irad Ortiz, Jr. can lead to a turnaround and the price will be fair given the heavy favoritism of #7 DEVIL IN DISGUISE.

RACE 3: 7-5-6-3

The speed of #7 BAM’S BLISS KISS is a weapon as she switches surfaces and drops in class.  She was last seen showing early interest before fading on the lawn and is the quickest of them on paper in here.  If able to get to the front early, she is a major threat to wire the field for one of the circuit’s most underrated trainers in Dave Duggan.

RACE 4: 7-4-1-6

#7 ALL CLASS goes turf to dirt for Linda Rice, and this is a move this barn has employed with success, hitting at a 32% strike rate over the last five years, good for a $2.06 ROI.  The outside draw is ideal given she can stalk and pounce, and this field is weaker than those she’s landed in of late on the main track.

RACE 5: 2-3-5-8

#2 LES REYS is a major player here off the bench after attempting to make her final move last out on the worst part of the turf course.  By the end of the Keeneland fall meet the inside of the turf was a lightning lane, and this French-bred was wide in the final quarter-mile.  She returns fresh for Miguel Clement, who was certainly involved in having her ready off the bench last year when she won the Winter Memories.

RACE 6: 10-6-5-2

#9 CY FAIR draws well on the outside for the debut and hails from a barn that has had plenty of notable success with juveniles sprinting on the weeds in recent years.  IN fact, this filly’s dam is kin to Crimson Advocate, who won the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot two years ago for George Weaver and part owner Swinbank Stables.  The worktab is solid and her grass drill back on June 20 looks to have her fit.  The dam did all her damage on turf and progeny of Not This Time are 12% first time weeds.

RACE 7: 5-2-6-1

#5 LOST HORIZON is a major off the pace threat here after a solid debut where she was fourth.  The over bet favorite from that affair is back in here on the stretchout, but this filly is the one who really stands to benefit from added ground.  Her dam was all about distance and progeny of Into Mischief excel at virtually any trip.  She should improve with a race behind her, and being closer to the pace will also help her chances today.

RACE 8: 4-3-1-8

As much as you might want an alternative, #4 MOVIN’ ON UP is a very likely winner here.  She was in position last out but got steadied in mid-stretch during her move.  That was enough to keep her out of the exacta, so a cleaner trip figures to help her cause this afternoon.  The recent running lines make her a prohibitive favorite given how regularly she has faced better horses in meaningful graded races.

RACE 9: 3-5-6-4

#3 KILLY START goes 2nd off a claim by Steven Schauer, who has had a very productive year as a new trainer.  He took this gal for 20k two starts back and she ran credibly in her first start off the claim, rallying from deep in the pack to get second.  This is theoretically a tougher race being a starter allowance event, but she should still be a major player in the closing stages with plenty of pace signed up before scratches.

RACE 10: 2-6-7-10-11

The best dirt races that #2 DREAM ON CARA has run make her a threat here, including a narrow miss against comparable foes three starts back.  Obviously the waters are deeper at Saratoga, but she can be a threat from just off the pace at a square price with an aggressive pilot on board.
