Late Pick 5 sequence:
Race 5 SELECTIONS: 1 – 6
#1 Strong Silent was very good as a two-year-old. She ran into some trouble at the start of her last race which was her first off of the layoff; drops in class today and if she gets away cleanly will attempt to take them gate to wire.
#6 Awesome Indra has good connections and good early speed that she can regulate effectively. Running second off the long layoff for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. She should be ready to give a good showing, gets the services of Luis Saez.
Race 6 SELECTIONS: 4 – 5
#4 Long Term has been away from the races for more than ten months, when he took his shot in the Grade 2 Wood Memorial; before than he was very competitive, earning a series of four consecutive second place finishes. Today he will try the turf for trainer Todd Pletcher.
#5 Happy Runner gives his all no matter the surface or distance, but today he will run the mile on turf once again, same as last time. Running his third race into the form cycle let’s see if this son of Runhappy can graduate from the maiden ranks.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 1 – 4
#1 Sonicus returns from a three month rest for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. Her prior attempts were very solid and she was running against open company at higher purse levels. #4 Adios Baby has been knocking at the door at this level in her last three attempts and today will have a new rider, Luis Saez.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 1 – 4 – 8 – 10
#1 Dubby Dubbie is an eight-year-old youngster that still has lots of speed in him, although lately he has not been running up to his potential. Was claimed by trainer Kelly Breen and will be running second off the layoff for the new barn. #4 Selfmade drops into the claiming ranks for owner trainer Martin Drexler. Running against suitable competition coupled along with getting Irad Ortiz Jr. in the saddle, let’s see if this gelding can find the winner’s circle. #8 Gospel Way was the bi-product of a hot pace last time out, he was in contention and had to steady. Today he will look to rebound off the that effort and will get Lasix for his second off the layoff attempt for trainer Kevin Attard. #10 Tetragrammaton is a take it to the lead runner who will be making his first start for new trainer Frank Russo. He should be fresh off the two month layoff and will try to take them gate to wire.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 5 – 6
#5 Erin’s Moment ran her last race at this level going 5.5Furlongs against a moderate pace. She held her own pressing close to the leader but was unable to get to her in time, today stretches out to 7Furlongs and gets Irad Ortiz Jr. in the irons. #6 West Bank is a homebred filly that will make her second career start for trainer Bill Mott. On debut she earned a solid speed figure while running determined and was pushed wide.
Let’s make it happen!!!
