Late Pick 5 sequence:
Race 5 SELECTIONS: 5 – 1 – 3
#5 War Strategy is a very consistent gelding for trainer Mark Casse. He ran a solid second in a similar race last time out; retains the services of jockey Luis Saez. #1 Extrasexybigdaddee is not a runner that I am interested in, I only like the name; just kidding! I like his chances in this spot, and I love the name. He has a versatile running style and should get a favorable trip from the inside post position. #3 My Man Flint could be value from a odds perspective, but has a good chance for the win. Although stepping up in class, this 5 year-old gelding has taken to the turf like his pedigree would suggest, he is now two for two at the distance and surface.
Race 6 SELECTIONS: 7 – 2
#7 Khozeiress ran well on debut last time out finishing a well beaten second going 6F. Stretching out to 7F today and gets Lasix for the first time. #2 Fortheloveofart returns to the races after a two month layoff for trainer Mark Casse. In his prior two starts he showed a willingness to be up close. In those races he could not hold on and faded in the stretch, today he gets Lasix for the first time.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 3 – 2
#3 Bay Street Money is two for two since moving over to the barn of Mike Maker and should be ready to fire coming off the patented 56-day layoff; Joel Rosario gets the mount. #2 Mouillage is a very likely winner of today’s seventh race but will also be bet in that regards as well. Well bred turf specialist trained by Chad Brown, ridden by Irad Ortiz Jr.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 1 – 6
#1 Nitrous Channel will be running second off the layoff for trainer George Weaver. In his return to the races last time out after a eight month layoff, he ran at this level and ran a solid second. #6 Too Much Action is a presser with good closing ability. If things get too hot up front and they start to slow down, he will be a prime beneficiary.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 6 – 12 – 4
#6 Krypton ran a solid second place finish in a race at this same level last time out. Today he runs for the new barn of Mary Eppler; Irad Ortiz Jr. gets the riding assignment. #12 The Best Distance is running second off the layoff for trainer Amador Sanchez. Last time out he ran well early before tiring; today he drops in class and returns to the All-Weather surface. #4 Major King will be going long for the first time in his career for new trainer Robert Hess Jr. I find it surprising that no one had attempted this gelding at a route of ground before with his breeding; son of California Chrome out of a Empire Maker dam.
Let’s make it happen!!!
