Late Pick 5
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 10 – 8 – 1
#10 Quality G is the morning line favorite and deservingly so; top jockey top trainer and some of the best speed figures in the field. #8 American Diamond gets back to the grass surface and a class level that puts him right in line with the potential winners in this race. #1 Happyisashappydoes is attempting the turf for the first time but has a propensity for the front and drew an inside post that should allow him to save ground and be in the mix early on.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 1 – 8
# 1 Tapit Three Times lost his last race by a head in a very slowly paced contest where he was bumped late; some pace to run at should provide the main ingredient for a better outcome. #8 Papa Do Papa Do has never contested a route distance but he did not show any quit in his second start last time out at 5.5Furlongs; gets Lasix for the first time and keeps rider Samuel Camacho Jr.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 12 – 4 – 5
#12 Life’s an Audible returns to the races after a strong 2-year-old campaign. This daughter of Audible won’t be a price on the tote given those past races and her connections but her talent is too strong to ignore. #4 Ozara fits a similar pattern of strong contender that wont be a long shot but should be right there as they take the photo to determine the order of finish. #5 Time to Dazzle will be the one the provides that big value potential. Her speed figures are slightly lower than others, but she has shown good versatility, and her only defeat was in a grade 2 at Keeneland.
Race 10 SELECTION: 2 Speed above all other factors
#2 Valiant Force is the race choice for several factors, one of the strongest is its competition; the majority of the runners in today’s 10th race are trying something new. Valiant Force is as well but his speed is the variable that we will rely on to get us past this leg.
Race 11 SELECTIONS: 10 – 2 – 3
#10 Agate Road has connections that understand how to get a youngster ready. This Quality Road colt has been battle tested and should put in a good showing as eyes are focused on the task at hand but also understand bigger things the goal. #2 Typhoon Fury is a hard-trying son of Mitole. He is trained by George Weaver who is strong statistically with shippers coming off a brief rest. #3 Depiction ran in graded stakes company last time out and did not have an easy trip. The workout tab looks strong as this More than Ready colt returns from a three month rest.
