Late Pick 5
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 6 – 3 Logical Mid Priced Runners
#6 Pack Plays returns after a brief rest, last time out he ran a very game second place at Delaware Park against similar competition. Today he gets to run a half a furlong shorter and gets Samy Camacho in the irons. #3 Hermoso Hombre broke his maiden at first asking and today returns for his second career start; solid connections.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 9 – 4 – 10 – 5 Tuff race – youngsters on the turf
#9 Pendulum drops in class for solid connections after two solid efforts. #4 Crevalle d’Oro drops in class today for trainer Mark Casse after running up at Woodbine and hitting the board in all three previous attempts. #10 Royal Ascot is a first-time starter, a daughter of Justify, trained by Josie Carroll, who is good with debut runners. #5 Mama Bella flashed good early speed last time out before tiring, potential for her to harness it better this time.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 7 Keying the best horse in a competitive race
#7 Backchat is the best horse, in my opinion, in a competitive race where the pace will make the difference; very good jockey in Edgard Zayas gets the mount.
Race 10 SELECTIONS: 8 – 5 – 1 Opportunity for prices
#8 Game Boy Benny runs for new jockey and trainer after three close starts around this level; seems to be better going longer and ran a solid 7Furlong race back in October. #5 Double Play King has some races from about a year ago that proves his ability to get the distance at this level; today will be his second race after a long layoff. #1 Cajun Hope has lots of experience and his last race he won after a long layoff; was it the muddy track or is he an improving horse? We will include him and find out.
Race 11 SELECTION: 11 – 7 – 14 Full field of 2 year-olds on the turf – 2 logical and 1 pedigree play
#11 Hot N Lucky almost got the job done last time out but found trouble late and he was tiring. Drops in class and gets Junior Alvarado in the saddle. # 7 My Great Illusion has not won in three attempts but gets a new trainer and moves to the grass; blood lines show good potential for the turf. #14 Praiseworthy makes it to the starting gate from the AE list and will have to work out a trip from the outside post position, but has lots of experience and is in capable hands.
