Late Pick 5
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.
Race 6 SELECTION: 4 Is the single in today’s sequence.
#4 You Ain’t Poppn is dropping in class for trainer Brendan Walsh. This 3-year-old son of Bolt d’ Oro has what it takes to outrun the competition and if he presses the pace early, he should emerge victorious; good workouts since last start.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 8 – 3
#8 Megan Makin Money will be looking to take this group from gate to wire. This daughter of Katharos is a certified front runner that is dropping in class after winning on the dirt last time out. #3 Amor Y Control has great early speed and is dropping in class after running a close second place finish versus stronger last time out. Smaller connections may be overlooked on the tote.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 6 – 2 – 4
#6 Romagna Mia won a grade three last time out in front running fashion, before that she came from off the pace in the grade one Berverly D at Colonial; she is the class of the field and has to be respected even at a short price. #2 Miss Yearwood is a turf route specialist that has been away from the races for seven months. Trainer Ian Wilkes runs her selectively and would not run her in this spot unless she was ready to put in a good effort. #4 Maman Joon ships in for trainer Jorge Delgado from Great Britain; she has good turf breeding and could be overlooked with the other strong contenders she will be facing.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 8 – 4 – 1
#8 Sonicus has been very competitive and knocking at the door versus open company and today will face state breds. #4 Chaina has a versatile running style and should put in a good effort as she is running second off the claim for the small but mighty barn of Eniel Cordero. #1 Omo Ten Girl is very competitive at this level and has good early speed which should help her utilize the inside post to her advantage.
Race 10 SELECTIONS: 14(AE) – 9 – 1 – 2
14(AE) Heart N Soul will be dropping significantly in class after just missing in his prior three attempts and if he makes the starting gate it will be telling who jockey John Velazquez elects to ride as he is also listed on the #9 Phobia, who ships in for trainer Guadalupe Preciado. He ran his career best speed figure last time out at Laurel; sharp recent work out. #1 Awesome First is a long shot include who has never run a route on the turf but has been solid in his two prior starts; has a good jockey and inside post. #2 Away from Home is hoping to get home first utilizing his early speed. He has not been successful in the past but is dropping two class rankings in an attempt to do so.
Today’s ticket .50 base (pre scratches) : 4 / 3,8 / 2,4,6 / 1,4,8 / 1,2,9,14 cost: $36
