Parx Racing 5/3/23

Parx Spot Plays

Race 2: #8 Sir Cupid

  • Sir Cupid has been really solid since breaking his maiden 3 races ago. I think that win really changed his mindset and now he knows what it feels like to compete and come out on top. The Franklin Gonzalez Jr/ William Hogan Jr combination has been pretty solid and under the radar the past few months and I think this one could win at decent odds if he can trip out.

Race 4: #7 Smilin Jack

  • Smilin Jack is a first time start for Lupe Preciado and is a homebred for Joseph Imbesi. Mychel Sanchez is riding this one and he rides most of Lupe Preciado’s good firsters. I think this horse’s workouts are good and consistent and the field is full of horses who can’t get the job done. The new shooter has the edge here and the outside post also helps if he has some early foot.

Race 8: #5 Ego Man

  • Ego Man romped last time out for Haleem Lee and I think this field is vulnerable. Obviously the favorites in this bunch are tough but if Ego Man can duplicate that prior race, I think Ego Man will be tough here at about double the price of the favorites.
