Players’ Podcast: Speed Figure Applications and More

We kick on with Nick Tammaro and PTF continuing their discussion about speed figures with a chat about applications that delves into pars, race review, ability figures, and condition analysis.

Next up, a visit from Kim Weir. She is the recent recipient of the Nancy Kelly Volunteer Award presented by the racetrack chaplaincy, and she also shares the latest information about Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga.

Presented by our friends at the Global Symposium on racing, which you can learn more about here.

  • Pete, Thanks for doing your podcast on speed figure. After listening to your podcast yesterday I did have a question for you. After comparing Byer Speed Figures and TFUS at the end of the week. Looking at TFUS taking 20 points off comparing to Byer when you have a difference how do you look at them. You mentioned something in the podcast but I didn’t understand how you were using the two. Thanks.

    • I think I answered this in the follow up show – did you have a chance to listen? Both TFUS and Formulator have useful charts features where you can go back after the numbers are in and compare apples to apples using that -20 equation.

      • Thanks Pete, I did get to listen to your podcast. I do enjoy listening to your podcasts especially the ones you do with your guest on handicapping. I’m always looking to better myself. I think I heard you say you was going to do one with Sean Boarman on question and answer on handicapping. Hope you can do a podcast. Maybe you can get Jake Jacobson to come on sometime.
