Just a shoutout to STATS Race Lens: While seemingly nobody liked Van Beethoven on Saturday, he had by far the highest “Class Ratings” of the field in the races run previous to that day. In fact, he was the only colt that had run in races rated (118,115,118) above the rating assigned to the Secretariat (109). Since I know almost nothing about foreign racing except for the most famous names, I rely on this angle often on big days. Gave me the big price winner Wuheida in the 2017 BC F&M Turf as well, and it helped greatly on Classico del Caribe Day at Gulfstream. Works on Central & South America too.
