Gulfstream Park Feb 25th Maiden Watch Race 12

Another odd week of NO Maiden Specials all week until today and only 1….

Race 12 – 1Mile on Turf – 3yo – Nothing Super Exciting here but still a shot to make score.

1 (C) Saint in the City making second start for Mott would not rule out, but I will be looking for this one next out.   OLD WORKNOTE – I have this one working well last summer with barn mates Gifted and Baie Longue who are both still looking to break their maidens.

2 Dark Vector for Weaver took a little money on debut and adds Blinkers today.   Castellano and Paco swap mounts here?    Barn is 3 for 25 with this move in the last 5 years.   Would have to see something significant in workout reports to include this one.

3 Silent Mode

4 Nanga Parbat

5 (B) Gotta Like Him will make his second start after long break and changing barns.  Last out broke sharp and was running thru the bit for first 1/4 mile then settled a bit but damage was already done.   Still had a little in tank when asked mid turn but quickly emptied out in the stretch.   Castellano has great hands and could get this one to rate a bit easier.   Assume will be on the engine either way.

6 Hurrying Home for Mott may take a little money with barn being hot recently.   Ill pass with Alvarado on the 1 that is enough signal for me.

7 More Than Tough I am seen enough of to toss until he finds softer company although cutting back to the mile will help a little.

8 (A)  Carl Spackler will be a heavy and deserving favorite here.   I have become a fan of Lope de Vega and this one is the most talented Maiden I can recall coming out of chad’s barn so far this meet and looked home in last finishing well before being nailed at wire.

9 Whiskey and Wine took money on debut when running into LOOMSBOLDLY…    Barn is 15% with move, debut does not bother me as Long on Grass was the goal.   Solid work tab only workmate info I have does not amount to much.

10 (B) Blame D Rule Maker woke up when getting on the turf for the first time.   3/4 wide entire race responded well gaining in stretch while lugging in a bit then got caught up in traffic at 16th and just jock just sit up.   Galloped out well and Zayas goes here who riding well.

Top Pick – 8 Carl Spackler        Suggested possible wagers –           Exacta     8 / 5,10        If you wanted to get a bit more creative     Trifecta   8 / 5, 10   /  1 , 5, 7 , 10       If any type of saver may have a ticket with the 10 on top.    Moving the 1 into second would structure a safer play, but I prefer to have these type of wagers narrow for large increments when I find them.   Goodluck….
