Gulfstream Park – Late Pick 5 – Friday (December 26, 2025) – John Pinder

Late Pick 5

Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.

Race 6 SELECTIONS:   4 – 6 – 2

#4 The Town has been prone to slow starts but his speed in class must be respected, gets top jockey Irad Ortiz in the saddle.  #6 Hawk is a hard trying homebred for Arindel who gets some class relief today; his recent workouts are impressive.  #2 Jackpot Cree is a well bred son of Knicks Go who will be making his debut for trainer Victor Barbosa Jr.

Race 7 SELECTIONS:   2 – 5 – 7

#2 Judge Davis is a proven competitor at higher levels and has the versatile running style to adapt to whatever pace may present itself.  #5 Seminole Chief is returning from a six-month layoff and has the back class and pressing running style that could set up the race perfectly for him.  #7 One Stripe has not been successful in his two US starts but is a grade one winner overseas. He will be one of the favorites but can’t be left off the ticket.

Race 8 SELECTIONS:   8 – 4 – 6

#8 Multiverse has great versatile speed and will be dropping in class for trainer Riley Mott; jockey Tyler Gafflione maintains the mount.  #4 Canuto has not missed hitting the board in his six previous attempts, this hard trying cold will get Javier Castellano in the irons.  #6 Trouble Time is a lightly raced 3-year-old gelding who drops in class after attempting to sprint on the turf, today returns to the dirt and should have a good opportunity to win;
Irad Ortiz will be in the saddle.

Race 9 SELECTIONS:  1 – 8 – 9

#1 Dazzling Move is dropping from graded stakes company and turning back in distance to the one turn mile, could take this field from gate to wire.   #8 Necessity switches to the barn of trainer Riley Mott and gets Irad Ortiz Junior in the saddle, she has the perfect running style to get the job done in today’s 9th.  #9 Sterling Silver ships in from New York for new trainer Anthony Maragotta.  She has good tactical speed and will be coming off the pace, jockey Javier Castellano will be in the irons.

Race 10 SELECTIONS:   4

#4 La Cantera will be making her second start for trainer Carlos David and has the versatile running style that allows her to make her own trip, jockey junior Alvarado will use his riding prowess to guide her to victory.

Today’s ticket .50 base (pre scratches) : 2,4,6 / 2,5,7 / 4,6,8 / 1,8,9 / 4    cost: $40.50
