Late Pick 5
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.
Race 5 SELECTIONS: 3 – 10 – 2 – 5
#3 Drakon is one of the best closers in the field. He should benefit from today’s pace and the fact that his late running style pairs with jockey Joel Rosario’s ability to drop back and swing up in the stretch. #10 Spy Novel drops in class today and should also be a beneficiary of today’s hot projected pace. He is dropping in class and gets jockey Irad Ortiz in the irons. #2 My Sea Cottage is a seven year old Ireland bred gelding that will be running second off the layoff for trainer Mark Casse; he has great early pace and could be the speed of the speed. #5 Clear Vision was selected as a horse with a chance because he too should have the opportunity to close into a hot pace.
Race 6 SELECTIONS: 6 – 3 – 4
#6 Formulate has been away from the races for about four months but on debut he won by six lengths; returns today and gets Lasix for the first time. #3 Light Forever took a while to graduate from the maiden ranks but his speed has progressed with every race. #4 El Mayo ships in from Oaklawn park and drops in class, also will get Lasix for the second time.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 7 – 1
#7 Sheila’s Mission has been away from the races for more than six months, but her trainer Bobby Dibona is very good with runners returning from a layoff. #1 Hits Different is a mare with good back class and today gets the services of apprentice jockey Rachel Slevinsky.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 5
#5 Grand Job will be the single for our opportunity at making this wager successful. She is dropping in class out of Graded Stakes company where she was the favorite and just missed.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 9 – 1 – 10 – 4
#9 Beentee is a pedigree play as she is the daughter of the late great turf sire Kitten’s Joy. #1 Gulfstream Mary D returns to turf where her early speed could allow her to open up on the competition and hang on late. #10 We Sea You has been knocking at the door in her last couple of attempts and today makes her first start for her new barn of trainer David Fawkes; Irad Ortiz will be up on the mount. #4 Ocean Ripple is a well bred filly that will be making her second start after a long layoff for strong connections.
Today’s ticket .50 base (post scratches) : 2,3,5,10/ 3,4,6 /1.7 / 5 / 1,4,9,10 cost: $ 48
