Late Pick 5
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.
Race 5 SELECTIONS: 11 – 9 – 4
#11 Bellavinino is a very consistent daughter of Get Stormy, the problem is that she is consistently close, hoping that the second time Lasix and jockey change to Irad Ortiz will be the factors to turn close into a cigar. #9 La Cantera is a Ireland bred filly that won her last race which was her first on turf; today she gets Lasix for the first time and gets another half a furlong to run. #4 Camm’s Princess has been on the improve since jockey John Velazquez has been in the irons; another move forward would fit the pattern.
Race 6 SELECTIONS: 8 – 1
#8 Parallel will be running third off the layoff as she drops in class. #1 Oya Thunder will be making her first start for new trainer Michael Maker, she has tactical speed and new jockey Luis Saez should put her in a good forward position.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 4 – 1
#4 Mish has great early speed and is running for top connections, which will more than likely make him the post time favorite; we wont let that deter us from using this very probable winner. #1 Great Navigator will be making his second start off the layoff for trainer Eddie Owens. Last time out he finished a respectable second but dueled and didn’t finish well; looking for the rust to be gone and he is able to finish strong.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 6 – 2
#6 Pleasant Embrace is on a two race winning streak as she ships in from Parx. She has not raced in four months but her bullet workout, 1 out of 101, indicates that she is ready to rock. #2 Breezey Bella showed what she was capable of last time out at Tampa Bay Downs as she won a sprint earning a solid speed figure.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 1 – 5 – 7
#1 Koctel War will get Lasix for the first time after just getting beat late last time out at a similar level and distance. #5 Lower Broadway will look to improve after a solid effort last time out at this level, gets Lasix for the second time and keeps jockey Tyler Gaffalione. #7 Genuine Gomo will be making his second career start for trainer Todd Pletcher, on debut this son of Authentic pressed the pace professionally before weakening. Moving to grass and stretching out should do well for him as it has for many of the Authentic progeny.
