Late Pick 5
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.
Race 5 SELECTIONS: 6 – 2
#6 Slew Diva returns to the surface she broke her maiden on, dirt. Owner-trainer Ronald Coy has a small barn but has a solid percentage. #2 Bouvier broke her maiden and was claimed by the small but mighty barn of Rasharm Creque; returning today after a three month rest she gets Tyler Gaffalione in the irons.
Race 6 SELECTIONS: 5 – 1 – 6
#5 Padiddle will drop from maiden to the maiden clamming ranks, he will also be running second off the layoff for trainer Brian Lynch. #1 Back in Business is dropping down two classes and getting Irad Ortiz in the saddle. #6 Give Me Liberty is a well bred colt that continues to find trouble, let’s see if he can get a clean trip under new jockey Paco Lopez.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 3 – 6 – 4
#3 Bring Me a Check has run well in different sections of his races and we can see that ability is there; last time out he attempted a mile and a half, today he will shorten up to a mile and one sixteenth. #6 Ocean Atlantique drops in class and makes his first start for new trainer George Weaver. #4 Burnin Turf almost won his last, a very similar conditioned race, at the same distance; he moves to the barn of Jose Gallegos.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 8 – 7
#8 Lily Bird has lots of early speed and should be able to get to the stretch first leading the pack from the outside post. #7 Leprechauna also possesses good early speed and should benefit from the outside position. #1 Stubold is a very competitive filly who broke her maiden last time and will be reunited with jockey Dylan Davis.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 9 – 5 – 6
#9 Shancelicious is dropping in class after putting in a good performance last time out when she pressed the pace before tiring at the end. #5 The Fiery One is a first time starter for Todd Pletcher and gets Irad Ortiz in the saddle. #6 Sheshimaintenance workout tab has greatly improved lately and today will be getting Lasix for the second time.
