Late Pick 5
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.
Race 6 SELECTIONS: 1 – 2 – 8
#1 Better Than Better found trouble at the start of her last outing, her speed figures fit versus the competition and she gets a rider change to Tyler Gaffalione. #2 Neblina has progressed nicely since moving to the barn of trainer Oscar Gonzalez last fall and has not given us any reason why she can’t continue; a repeat of her last effort puts her in contention. #4 Brenna has been unsuccessful at higher levels but will get some class relief, Lasix for the first time, and a rider change to Edgard Zayas.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 8 – 5
#8 Jack’s Promise has shown flashes of his ability here and there; gets some class relief and a surface change back to dirt today. #5 Sarkis also drops in class which should help him carry his desire to be close up to the pace.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 7 – 8 – 6
#7 Alpha Blue should improve running second off the layoff for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr., jockey Irad Ortiz picks up the mount. #8 Ours for Sure just missed last out at this level and was claimed, today he will run for trainer Frank Santillana, but jockey Miguel Vasquez stays aboard. #6 Frisson has a very similar story; claimed last time out at this level and runs for new connections today.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 4 – 2
#4 Talbingo is a perfect two for two in his racing career and will look to keep the streak alive in today’s ninth race. He has won with speed early and speed late winning by open lengths. #2 King d’Oro is a certified presser that is proven to be very competitive regardless of surface in or around this class level.
Race 10 SELECTIONS: 11 – 9 – 7
#11 Urban Legend has the ability to press and pounce the pace, draws the outside and gets the services of jockey Irad Ortiz. #9 Yes I Am Free drops in class and also will have the advantage of an outside starting post. #7 Asher’s Edge is moving up in class but has won three of his last four, keeps jockey Tyler Gaffalione.
