Gulfstream Park – Late Pick 5 – Friday(March 07, 2025) – John Pinder

Late Pick 5

Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.

Race 5 SELECTIONS:  7 – 3

#7 Ashima will look to make it five in a row.  #3 Zisisit should sit a good stalking trip behind the pace setters as she drops and class and will be running second off the layoff; jockey Tyler Gaffalione picks up the mount.

Race 6 SELECTIONS:  2  – 4 –  9

#2 Sainte Chapelle can beat this group easily if she gets a good start, jockey Tyler Gaffalione stays abord.  #4 Dream Diamond was eased last time out but she was coming off a long layoff, morning works indicate she is ready to give it another shot.  #9 Carnane looks to improve after being bumped at the start last time out.  She has a couple of races last year that are impressive and we are looking for a return to form as she rounds back into shape going a route of ground.

Race 7 SELECTIONS:   7

#7 Blast Radius tired late in a very similarly profiled race last time out, he was returning from a six month layoff and was claimed in that effort; his new trainer Victor Barboza Jr. does well statistically with claiming runners.

Race 8 SELECTIONS:   6 – 9 – 8 – 4 – 2

#6  Boundfortrouble should be ready to rock after returning from a six month break last time out and ran strong at this level.  #9 Most Handsome has great early speed and gets Lasix for the first time.  #8 Makeit to Cheyenne showed what he is capable of last time out.  He hasn’t been to the races for over seven months but gets Lasix and Irad Ortiz in the irons.  #4  Dumb Money ran a career high speed figure last time out, coincidently it was his first time sprinting on the All-Weather.  #2 New York New York broke his maiden on debut last time out and will look to repeat the result for new trainer Nolan Ramsey.

Race 9 SELECTIONS:   5 – 1 – 6

#5 Alley Oop Johnny is a hard trying son of Animal Kingdom that will be very competitive in today’s finale; he has finished second in his last two attempts.  #1 Burnin Turf will be making his second start for trainer Jose Gallegos, he drops in class and gets the meet’s leading rider Irad Ortiz in the saddle.  #6 Rigel will attempt to use his front running prowess to take them gate to wire, he was successful doing so last time out.

Today’s ticket .50 base (pre scratches) : 3,7 / 2,4,9 / 7 / 2,4,6,8,9 / 1,5,6 cost: $45
