Late Pick 5
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 5 – 1 – 2
#5 Big Pond will be running second off the layoff for trainer William Mott. She is a mare with a lot of back class and her last outing seemed to be her ‘welcome back’ race. #1 Cruise to Catalina has great early speed and could have needed a race last time out as she was also returning from a three months rest. #2 Here’s the Kicker has good versatility and could get a good setup if things get too fast up front.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 6 – 5 – 9 – 2
#6 Rare Art will see if her foundation of strong races from New York will help her to continue to build her resume; I believe they will, and I believe that she will be a contender today. #5 Flip Flops will be running third off the layoff after a very bad trip last time at Tampa. #9 Annelle just missed last time out in a similar race, I like the continuity with jockey Joe Bravo. #2 Origami will make her second start in the U.S. and will be getting Lasix for the first time.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 8 – 1
#8 Emirates Affair gets a rider change to Paco Lopez, which should fit with her propensity to do her best running early. #1 Defended has good early speed but can also be versatile; she has been competitive verses open company at this level.
Race 10 SELECTIONS: 1
#1 Nic’s Style will be our single for this sequence. She is a very good presser type that will have a target, going 6.5 Furlongs should also be beneficial.
Race 11 SELECTIONS: 5 – 7 – 6 – 4
#5 I’m Due will look to repeat a performance that almost got his picture taken, today he will get a rider change to Paco Lopez and wear blinkers. #7 Dual Income is always in contention and with a clean trip he can win at this level. #6 Hall Monitor was heavily bet and won on debut, ships in from Tampa and will look to start a streak. #4 Sugar Buzz broke his maiden last time out after knocking on the door multiple times. He was claimed by a barn that does well with first off the claim runners.
