Gulfstream Park – Late Pick 5 – Saturday (March 22, 2025) – John Pinder

Late Pick 5

Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.

Race 7 SELECTIONS:   7 – 1 – 6

#7 Gabaldon will make his return after a nine month layoff for trainer Jose D’Angelo. He won on debut earning a fast speed figure before going to Ascot this past summer.  #1 Turbulent Force is a perfect 2 for 2 in his racing career and his morning works indicate that he has no intention of slowing down.  #6 No Evidence is running second off the layoff after breaking his maiden at this distance last time out; he is a well bred son of Vekoma.

Race 8 SELECTIONS:    2 – 9

#2 Founder’s Day has a pressing running style that will come in handy from her inside post; she won her last race at a similar class level.  #9 Fairhopecurly didn’t fare well in her last race but has good early speed and drops in class today.

Race 9 SELECTIONS:   6

#6 Vino Rouge will be our single for the sequence as we look to this four year old daughter of Vino Rosso to get back to her winning ways as she returns from a four month freshening for trainer Anthony Dutrow.

Race 10 SELECTIONS:   5 – 1

#5 Runnin’ Rocket will be running second off the layoff and dropping in class for trainer Brian Lynch, jockey Junior Alvarado picks up the mounts.  #1 Icy Flavor will also be running second off the layoff and dropping in class for trainer Joseph Orseno.

Race 11 SELECTIONS:   12 – 6 – 7 – 3 – 1

#12 Egyptian was narrowly defeated on debut when he showed speed and grit, today he gets Lasix for the first time for trainer Brendan Walsh.  #6 Golden Channel has been involved early on in both his career races and today has the potential to do the same.  Last time he was only a length of the lead until the final jump, hoping that the stretch out in distance will provide a different pace dynamic today.  #7 Buzz Rocket has the most racing experience and has been improving lately, in his last attempt he finished a close third.  #3 A. P. Kid led most of his debut last time out then tired.  Let’s see if trainer Todd Pletcher has worked out the kinks.  #1 Weaponized is a first time starter that is a well bred son off Gun Runner that is trained by Brad Cox; too many positive factors to leave off the ticket.

Today’s ticket .50 base (post scratches) : 1,6,7 / 2,9 / 6 / 1,5 / 1,3,6,7,12   cost: $ 30
