Gulfstream Park – Late Pick 5 – Saturday(February 01, 2025) – John Pinder

Late Pick 5

Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.

Race 8 SELECTIONS:   2 – 6

#2 L’Antharis has been close in all of his U.S. races but not able to finish the task.  He is running second off the layoff for a patient trainer in William Mott, feels like the time is right.  #6 Tennessee Lamb workout tab indicates that he is ready to make it two in a rowHe broke is maiden last time out by switching up his tactics as he went to the front early and stayed there.

Race 9 SELECTIONS:   7 – 6

#7 Grayscale was ultra impressive in his lone start and looks to be the one to beat.  #6 Gunmetal was also very impressive on debut, ships in from Fair Grounds for trainer Brad Cox.

Race 10  SELECTIONS:   6 – 4 – 7 – 5

#6 Test Score is a dangerous runner for Graham Motion, a trainer that likes to bring his runners along slowly, and we can see this colt fitting into that pattern.  #4 Tiz Dashing has paired up speed figured from race one to race two and has a strong late kick.  #7 Coco Cool returns to the turf after running and winning on the All-Weather at Turfway Park.   #5 Walking in Memphis won on debut in front running fashion, positive reviews from his most recent work out.

Race 11  SELECTIONS:   7 – 2

#7 Burnham Square continues to improve with each start and in his last race this son of Liam’s Map showed his ability to press the pace a little sooner and keep that speed throughout the route distance.  #4 Ferocious is the elephant in the room.  This son of Flatter has run amazingly in portions of his races and has competed in three top level races in his young career; BLINKERS ON today for the first time which could be a game changer and could help him to put it all together.

Race 12  SELECTIONS:   11 – 2 – 7

#11 Stunner has a early speed advantage and can very well take this field gate to wire.  #2 The Queens M G also has great early speed and has an extensive resume of competitive races; gets the meets leading rider Irad Ortiz in the irons.  #7 Eclatant last race was a step back from her first two races but today she gets a cutback in distance.

Today’s ticket .50 base (pre scratches) : 2,6 / 6,7 / 4,5,6,7 / 2,7 / 2,7,11 cost: $48
