Late Pick 5
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 8 – 9 – 1 – 10
#8 Swan Lake has the natural ability to get to the front and is tenacious when he gets there. #9 Speight’spercomete conversely is more tactical and will be running second off the claim and second off the layoff for trainer Kelly Breen. # 1 War Beat drops in class after winning a similar race last time out, apprentice jockey Micah Husbands will carry 115 lbs. #10 Nerves of Steel is making a bigger drop in class and should improve second off the layoff.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 4
#4 Knightsbridge is the one to beat in today’s ninth race. His speed and the one turn mile at Gulfstream Park are like peanut butter and jelly.
Race 10 SELECTIONS: 12 – 10 – 2 – 1
#12 Hello Hollywood will be running second off the layoff and returning to the turf, which allows her pressing style to be more effective. 10 Bedazzle ‘Em was not ready for the start in her last race, today she is returning to the turf and running second off the layoff for trainer Bill Mott. #2 Princess Bettina will be running third off the layoff for trainer Brian Lynch after an improved effort last time, keeps jockey John Velazquez . #1 Gilded Edge will also be looking to come from off the pace, if she can save ground and find an opening late, this daughter of Justify will be a contender.
Race 11 SELECTIONS: 8
#8 Grand Job is undefeated in her two U.S. starts and she accomplished the victories on the front end pulling away by open lengths.
Race 12 SELECTIONS: 7 – 6 – 3 – 9
#7 Papa Golf drops in class for strong connections, he has progressed in each of his prior starts and is a very likely winner. #6 Back in the Saddle has gotten very close to winning but today he gets blinkers and Lasix for the second time. #3 Culpa has found trouble at the beginning of both his prior races, a clean break and first time Lasix could spell potential. #9 Jack’s Promise is dropping in class and will get Lasix for the second time. Although he has not raced a route distance, his pace lines suggest that the distance should not be a problem.
Today’s ticket .50 base (pre scratches) : 1,8,9,10 / 4 / 1,2,10,12 / 8 / 3,6,7,9 cost: $32
