Late Pick 5 Sequence
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion. To be more judicious with our bankroll in 2026, I will be taking a more targeted approach in Pick 5 selections and include some win bets and doubles when the opportunities arise.
Race 6 SELECTIONS: 5 – 3
#5 Domino Vitali races for the third time in her career today and looks to have the speed and stamina to be very tough in today’s opening leg. We will also play the only other viable threat, #3 Blueberry Hill who will be running second off a long layoff for strong connections.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 8 – 2 – 7
#8 Roscoe Pine didn’t fare well in his last couple of attempts, but those races had no pace for him to run into; and they were against slightly better than what he will face today. #2 American Speed also will be dropping in class after some not so favorable outcomes but has the back class and natural speed that must be respected. #7 Manhattan Boy is our longshot include because he just like our other picks has some races in his not so distant past that warrant an include, running second off the layoff.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 7
#7 Printer’s Alley will be the narrow passageway that we use in an attempt to get paid. He should be ready to fire off the layoff and gets Lasix for the first time, jockey Tyler Gaffalione picks up the riding assignment.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 5 – 6 – 8
#5 Longbranch Lou has good speed and versatility for this class level, top jockey Irad Ortiz retains the mount. #6 Baytown Parfait is in excellent form currently for trainer Nicholas Tomlinson who is also doing very well. #8 King of Hollywood is 20-1 on the morning line, mainly due to the connections, who are not household names at Gulfstream Park. The horse is trying the All-Weather for the first time in a long time, but fits from an ability perspective.
Race 10 SELECTIONS: 8 – 2 – 1 – 6
#8 Chemical Romance does his best running late and should benefit from today’s projected early pace. #2 Xcel makes his second career start and drops in class, he ran well enough for the first part of the race before fading. #1 Friday Night Light tried to take them gate to wire last time but that didn’t work out so well, second time out and jockey change. #6 High Leverage fits the same profile as #2 and should improve.
Today’s pick 5 ticket $.50 base (pre scratches) : 3,5 / 2,7,8 / 7 / 5,6,8 / 1,2,6,8 cost: $36
