Late Pick 5
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.
Race 5 SELECTIONS: 1 – 2 – 4
#1 Three Priests is getting a lot of class relief today as she makes her second start off the layoff; last time she closed well but did not have enough to finish the bid. #2 Sugaree will be making her U.S. debut for trainer Arnaud Delacour, she is an Ireland bred mare that will get Lasix for the first time. #4 Bravo Kitten will be running third off the layoff and has the ability to be in striking distance when the sprint to the finish begins.
Race 6 SELECTIONS: 4 – 7
#4 Bella Mendy has been sprinting and now will have a chance to run a route; against the competition today she could have the opportunity to take them gate to wire. #7 Not One Less has shown consistency throughout her recent campaign.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 3 – 4
#3 Heaven Rules ships in from Tampa Bay Downs and will take her early speed to the All-Weather surface and will get Irad Ortiz in the irons. #4 My Lady James also possesses great early speed and with the rider change to Paco Lopez, I could see this mare having a similar outcome to when they teamed up last year.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 6
#6 Thought returns to the surface and distance that suits his running style and ability the best, he also gets class relief.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 12 – 1 – 2
#12 Crystalaire ran a solid race on her U.S. debut a month ago when she was well positioned throughout, a step forward makes her a very viable win candidate. #1 Cdakhat was prominent throughout her debut sprinting on the turf but found trouble, she is well bred and has strong connections. #2 The Gael is a well bred first time starter for trainer Brendan Walsh.
