Late Pick 5
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.
Race 5 SELECTIONS: 2 – 5
#2 Nantasket Beach is a very consistent gelding that was competitive at this level two races back. Today he will make his first start for new trainer Lauren Robson. #5 Mister Abarrio is also a hard trying gelding that fits at this level, rider change to Tyler Gaffalione.
Race 6 SELECTIONS: 6 – 2 – 5
#6 Miscreant has the highest speed rating at the distance but was struggling at the higher levels, today she gets some class relief.
#2 Bellwether moves to the barn of Jose D’Angelo after the claim back in January, her most recent workout is impressive.
#5 Bonmati is not without a chance as the drop in class and tendency to want to be near the lead should make her more competitive.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 2 – 7 – 8
#2 Solidaria attempted the dirt last time and did not have a good trip off the turn, although she will break from the inside again, she has the speed to power through.
#7 Xenon will look to break the good race – bad race streak, jockey Dylan Davis stays aboard.
#8 Wiggle An’ Wine will be running second off the layoff and gets Irad Ortiz in the irons.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 3 – 1 – 8
#3 Souper Times displayed maturity and speed progression in his last race, workout times are fast.
#1 Jimmy’s Dailys will look to prove that his maiden breaking effort last time out was no fluke, he has good speed and is well bred.
#8 Smoken Boy was up close to a fast pace and was forced wide in his most recent race at Tampa, with a better trip he could surprise at a price.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 2 – 3
#2 Otter Mischief is hoping that a lot of seconds can equal a first. Second off the layoff, second start for his current trainer and two second place finishes in his last two races.
#3 Worth the Wait is a first time starter son of Oscar Performance, running for trainer Brian Lynch; John Velazquez gets the mount.
Today’s ticket .50 base (pre scratches) : 2,5 / 2,5,6 / 2,7,8 / 1,3,8/ 2,3 cost: $54
