Late Pick 5
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.
Race 5 SELECTIONS: 3 – 6
#3 Ekati King will be making his first start for the barn of Saffie Joseph Jr. He is returning to a sprint and making a surface switch; both of those factors should help his early natural speed. #6 Awesome Beast returns to the races after 7 months, he is a homebred for KD racing and they are clearly taking their time with this gelding. His workouts have increased in speed, Tyler Gaffalione gets the mount.
Race 6 SELECTIONS: 4
#4 Bellavinino is dropping significantly in class and has good early speed that should suit her well with the surface switch to the All-Weather.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 7 – 3
#7 Weighted Average is a well bred daughter of English Channel that is lightly raced but is also always in contention. #3 Selfless has found trouble in her two prior attempts, but showed better interest late; has a chance for improvement.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 2 – 5
#2 Into Diamonds has not been to the races since July of last year but what he showed then combined with his connections and recent works gives me confidence that he should do well today. #5 Turbulent Force won on debut at this distance on the turf; today he switches surfaces and gets Lasix for the first time.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 8
#8 Rumours Have It is a Whisper Hill homebred that will be making her second career start for trainer Todd Pletcher; she was bet well on debut and just missed.
