Gulfstream Park Thurs March 16th Maiden Watch – Races 7 and 9

Any Stats or percentages are based on specific Scenario in the last 5 years unless stated otherwise.   Example –  1st Time Starter / Sprint / Dirt / MSW.    TYPO Disclaimer I keep finding my self using abbreviations that I use in my Formulator Trip notes out of habit and some I fail to fix on proof reading.

This may be all is seen from me this week as we are off on a family trip……..   Back next week

Race 7   6F on the Dirt 3 Year old and Older  –

1 (B)  Dekanter –  Barn is 26% last 5 years with 1stSt/Dirt/Spt/MSW – Old Worknote – Feb 22nd worked even with ShawdyShawdyShawdy

2 Maerdama Barn is 19% here  – No Workout information and light on the official workouts listed.

3 (B)  CindyLouwho is 5 year old but lightly raced and one to consider here after trying the grass in her last, if she repeated the race she ran going 6.5 here in July was arguably her best race of the 5 career starts.

4 (B)  Snow Princess debuts for a hot barn that is 15% in this scenario.  Alvarado is not on this one is interesting as he has no other mount in the race and Rosario is on, I hear he has pretty good agent…..

5 (B)  Sugar Boo is interesting at price here.  Coming into her debut in 2021 had a page showing fast works but no clue how she got those times and took money.   Her come back race this year was on the turf where she ran better than on paper behind.    Barn is 20% 3rdStart/Dirt/Spt/MSW   but the large layoff dilutes that stat a bit.    Mainly for me watching her Feb 17th work on XBTV she looks to have took a step forward from previous.

6 Etana’s Napper

7 (A)  Accede I have no workout information on.  Debut for Brown who is 21% 1stST/Dirt/Spt/MSW , Previous at GP 32%.  Irad rides makes her the favorite here.

8 (B)  She’s Awesome has ran consistently finishing behind some horses that have showed some talent.   Most definitely would need to be considered.

9 Portage

I found absolutely nothing in this one to get excited about, I will look to spread or take a shot on the first time starter for Chad but obviously would be risky.    Forcing myself into a top pick would go with 7 Accede –   Likely no Wager here, but if 5 Sugar Boo drifts up to a ridiculous price I will make a small wager.

Race 9 – 1 Mile on Turf

1 (A) Make the Boys Wink –   I was all loaded up and ready to bet this one Feb 5th until it was moved to the Tapeta where she looked completely different than her debut on the turf.   She had traffic trouble in debut at rail, once she got a lane responded well but race was already over at this point and TG sit up 16th and flagged her home.   Tyler sticks with her here,   Will be my top pick unless comes off the grass for some reason.

2 Tar Heel Girl did not show much on debut and will need to see a lot more of her before I could consider.

3 (B) Red Roulette is one I am not sure what to think of.   4-1 Morning Line for a reason?   Barn is 14% in last 5 year 1stSt/Turf/Rte/MSW.   A lot of gaps in the official works listed and I have no workout information on this one.  The 36 initial work stands out a bit.

4 (A) Milieu has the most experience in the group and the best races.   She ran well on Dec 11th but had no excuse that day.   Jan 29th she was rank most of the races tugging and did not settle till late.  Responded well and stayed on with good energy to wire just was no match late especially for the winner Mrs. Astor who looks to be a really nice filly.  She is a must use A horse and could win by default here.

5 (B) Fancy did not show much on debut galloping along 2/3 wide most of this race before fading.   If you are spreading might include as I did think she looked a much improving type on the March 1st workout but likely is one that needs some more experience.

6 (A) Conseillante has not been seen since Aug, assuming she bled(Gets Lasix) that day or had another issue.   2nd St/Turf/Rte/MSW Chad is 28%   with Jose on board 48%.    She is a 1/2 to Paradise Woods.   OLDWORKNOTE – 7-22-22 Slightly 2nd best to Free Look  galloped out another 3/4’s good energy.

7 (C) Lakeside Getaway could be loose here with Paco which is always Dangerous.  I had no interest in her last time when stretching out but she ran well on the tapeta, if spreading will toss her in.  Was in for a Tag Dec 7th.

8 (C) Party Time is another huge price to toss in if spreading here.   Showed nothing on debut and get blinkers today (Feb 26th worked in blinker and pretty much under a strong hold the entire work) so I am on the fence if the blinkers are a negative or positive here.    She has only had 3 siblings to race and all 3 won on debut on the grass.  Barn is 17% in this scenario.

9 (A) Solicitation last off the turf race is a toss for me and her debut she was under a snug hold most of the way, ran well early stretch then hit a bit of traffic and TG sit up on her not sure if he had horse or not that day.  Clement is 24% here.

10 Preliminary I have no workout information on.   TOSS  Eventually Chad is going to burn me here but once again 1st Time Starter / Turf Routes / MSW   Chad does Chad things… I am a Chad fan     BUT   The last time he won with a 1st Time Starter / Turf Routes / MSW here at Gulfstream was Feb of 2020.    0 for 27 since……

11 Secrets Galore might be one to beat me but will not be using.   Not seen since October and gets back to the grass today.   Vet scratch 2/18, and I was not much on the 3/2 work.   Will pass…

Top Pick –   1 Make the Boys Wink     Not eager to make any type of bet in this race unless this one drifts up 6-1 or better but even then the way I manage my bankroll will be a smaller wager as there are too many A’s for me to hammer a win horse in this one.
