Looks like Gulfstream could be in for a rough weekend with heavy rains and possible flooding predicted, so would keep a close eye on the weather.
I like the sequence and plan on attacking it heavy, with the weather tune back in after scratches and I will update.
Top Pick for each race is in bold.
Race 1 – MD16 on the Tapeta and not much information to go here, Will likely be a single the 2 Bolkin or spread scenario for me.
A – 2 Bolkin has work you can view over on XBTV, Showed speed when breaking decent with 3 others pulled away from them handily and went out tugging through the turn. Assuming Zayas got off the 3 to land here.
B – 3 Sir Banana Brian had a troubled debut breaking slow but quickly into stride at rail then was in tight mid turn bumped foe checked out only to gather up cut the corner and stayed on well.
Couple others that could step up.
C – 1 Papa Do Papa Do has been gelded since debut when he did no running.
C – 7 Anadolu was outworked by Indescriptable who recently broke his maiden convincingly.
Race 2 is the tricky leg of this pick 5 in my opinion. I will have a the ALL button on at least 1 pick 5 ticket.
A – 1 In a Spin has faced tough company in the past and carries form for both surfaces.
A – 2 Go Big Green makes her 2nd start off an extended layoff and 2nd start for Saffie. I do not imagine when she was claimed in Aug of 22 they had in mind being turned out for 16 months and coming back running her for the same purchase price………. Last race was decent but nothing to get excited about.
A – 3 Chick’s Shadow is the class of the field, she has been facing much tougher than these and is honest hard trying race mare. I like her much better on the Turf than the tapeta which seems unlikely looking at the forecast.
A – 7 Thelastbulletsmine ran a decent race in her last coming up a bit tired late, not certain she can get the distance but has reason to improve.
B – 5 Starship Nana is a downgrade if this one is on the grass, but she is 2 for 4 on the tapeta.
B – 6 Alybaer won on debut for a 25 tag nearly a year ago. Lot of feed has went into her since and she comes back in a MSW, recently she worked heads up with Palm Tree who ran 3rd in the Pulpit.
B – 9 Kizzy I prefer on the turf and will be a downgrade if moved to the tapeta.
C – Everyone Else
Race 3 – 6250 N2L as always this level race has an opportunity to be volatile. But will try to squeeze by here with the obvious, but have to mention a couple others that would not shock me here.
A – 4 Novellie faces winner for the first time after coming off a break going 7F and having finish thru the wire which many here will lack inside the final furlong. Saffe and Edgar likely will be a short price.
B – 3 La Dame De Fer only has one dirt sprint try and drops a bit in class.
B – 6 Ginrin broke her maiden in a slow race going 3/4’s as a 2 year old. Now will get back to Dirt Sprinting today for the first time with Lasix.
Race 4 looks to be very competitive for 16N2L.
A – 2 Robyn and Eli is easily the class of the field. Adds blinkers and runs for lowest level of her career, I assume she will handle the tapeta just fine but will be trailing early and if she takes kick back there is no guarantee here.
A – 3 Chloe’s Toy will clear these easily will be just a matter if Edgar can nurse her to the wire.
A – 7 Grace Candy (20-1) comes back to Gulfstream where she produced her best races. She should had broke her maiden 1-20-2023 when Torres was asleep at the wheel, then she ran into Little Jewel in her next. Gets back to the tapeta with an outside post and should sit right off Chloe’s Toy who likely will get short late. She will be my top pick here in hopes she is the same horse she was in the spring.
B – 6 Talking Wonders last race I have faster than anything in here, but fear she will be coming too late.
Race 5 – Surface will be a factor of my play of confidence here.
A – (Lone A if on tapeta) 5 Burnaway (6-1) is my top pick on either surface and if they come off the turf she will be a Lone A on my main ticket and a WIN Bet. Her last she had some slight traffic trouble and go going a bit late just missing. Jaramillo will look to get here in the clear and moving a bit earlier and we will see if she is good enough.
A – (Will be a toss if on the Tapeta) 11 Arisaema has been close several times closing into slow paces , couple troubled trips. The firmer turf will suit her as well.
B – 7 Street Charity will see the turf or tapeta for the first time and go a route of distance for the first time as well. Pletcher and Irad if you are not ok getting beat by this one best to include.
B – 10 Palace Flirt was protected on debut and ran well. Has every reason to improve here after getting some experience another you would want to include if you are not comfortable making a stand with my top pick.
PICK 5 – I will look to get alive at Race 5 by playing most of my money on a high increment ticket singling 5 Burnaway, but will have a back up for a lower increment using my 3 backups there.
R1 – 2
R2 – 1 , 2 , 3 , 7 ( Will have tickets with the ALL button here )
R3 – 4
R4 – 2 , 3 , 6 , 7 (Will also have at least 1 Ticket with ALL button here as well.
RR – 5 ( Backup ticket will use 7 , 10 , 11 )
