Royal Ascot 2026 is in the books after five sun-soaked days — and it signed off in style. Here’s the wrap, then a full slate of Father’s Day racing in the States.

Almeraq Caps an Epic Meeting

The finale’s feature delivered the drama it promised. Almeraq, a 25/1 shot for William Haggas and Tom Marquand, arrived late to snatch the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes by a nose — denying Japan’s Satono Reve, runner-up in the race for the second year running, with the Australian favourite Joliestar a brave third in a four-way blanket finish.

The rest of the card had its own headlines. Orthodox powered clear in the Norfolk after the American fillies cut each other’s throats up front; Giavellotto gave Oisin Murphy his first winner of the week in a vintage Hardwicke, edging Kalpana and Goliath; Thesecretadversary boosted the 2000 Guineas form in the Jersey; Double Rush landed the Wokingham cavalry charge; and Illinois closed the meeting in the marathon Queen Alexandra for Ryan Moore and Aidan O’Brien.

When the dust settled, the old powers stood tallest: Aidan O’Brien took leading trainer — the week he reached a historic 100 Royal Ascot winners through Scandinavia in the Gold Cup — and Ryan Moore finished leading jockey. For the American raiders, Wesley Ward’s Bacio gamble on Friday was the highlight, and the US fillies went close all week. Crowds were up and the weather glorious: a meeting to remember.

Sunday in the States

Happy Father’s Day from everyone at ITM. The racing doesn’t stop — here’s where our team is playing on Sunday.

Monmouth Park — Eric Solomon. A pair of stakes headline an eight-race card (first post 12:50 PM ET). Eric makes Dry Powder his best bet of the day in the $100K Lady’s Secret, expecting the four-year-old filly to turn the tables getting two turns for the first time, and leans on the speedy Speed Figures in the $100K Get Serious dash.

Los Alamitos — Dean Keppler. Keppler goes through the Sunday card, headlined by his Best Bet: Jaguar Jon in Race 1, in sharp form and proven over the Los Al layout.

Laurel Park — Will Humphrey. Will’s trip notes flag the runners who deserve an asterisk across the Laurel card — the horses whose last lines read worse than they ran.
