Mondays at Gulfstream are the new Fridays — and the mandatory Rainbow 6 that anchors them keeps drawing a crowd. Here’s the play.

Mandatory Monday #3: the Rainbow 6 Keeps Delivering

Gulfstream runs the third of its eight straight Monday programs today, and the headline is the same one that’s been packing the pools: a mandatory payout on the 20-cent Rainbow 6. First post is 12:20 p.m. ET, and today’s sequence spans Races 4 through 9 — three maiden races, a conditioned claimer on the synthetic, and a pair of allowances to close the card.

The numbers tell the story of why these Mondays have caught on. The opener on July 13 drew a Rainbow 6 pool of roughly $985,000; last Monday, July 20, brought in $527,000 and paid out 88 winning tickets at $5,084 apiece. With only Saturday and Sunday feeding the carryover, the pools have still come up big — which is exactly the kind of value that rewards doing your homework.

PTF and JK have the full card, walking the Rainbow 6 sequence and the rest of the day’s Gulfstream action.

The Monday Menu

Part of what makes these cards worth a look is the wager slate built around them — all at a player-friendly 15% takeout:

Players Late Pick 3 — $3, covering the last three races.

Players Late Double — $5, covering the last two.

Place Pick 8 — $1, pick the winner or runner-up in the final eight races, with 100% of the net pool carrying over when no one hits it.

Summer Sweep Pick 5 — a $1-minimum, retail-only bet that pairs Gulfstream races with a rotating partner track (Woodbine, Fort Erie, Horseshoe Indianapolis, Parx, and Emerald Downs among them) and carries over 100% of the net pool rather than paying consolations.

Also Today: Presque Isle

Chance Rains is back with an eight-race Presque Isle Downs card for Monday (first post 3:30 p.m. ET) — a competitive slate he calls a $5k-claimer gambler’s dream in spots, with a Late Pick 4 that kicks off with a pair of 2-year-old maiden sprints. He’s also tracking a tight meet: Antonio Gallardo holds a three-win edge over Gaddiel Martinez atop the jockey standings, while Kevin Rice leads Scooter Davis by just two in the trainer race.
