A big week for the ITM family on the HorsePlayers Tour — including one of our own. Let’s hand out some congratulations and point you toward Friday.
Congratulations to Our Newest Tour Qualifiers — One of Them Is Very Familiar
Friday’s In the Money HorsePlayers Tour feeder drew a hefty 163 entries, and four players punched their tickets into the ITM Tour Playoffs. Congratulations to Jim Tragos, Chris Bertolucci, Michael Pribozie, and Dave Nichols.
And two of those names are close to home. Michael Pribozie is none other than our own Mikee P. — proof that the guy breaking down cards for you all summer can play a little himself — and Jim Tragos is a member of the ITM Plus Inner Circle. When we say this Tour is for our whole community, we mean it: this week our community delivered.
With seven Friday feeders in the books, 28 of the 68 Playoff spots are now claimed — four every week from now until the Playoffs, which run the four weeks leading into the Breeders’ Cup. Forty spots still up for grabs, and any one of them could be yours.
If you want in, here’s how it works. The feeder is a $20 Pick & Pray on HorsePlayers.com that pays off two ways: the top 10% advance to Saturday’s BCBC Qualifier (win that and you’ve got a $10,000 seat in the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge), and the top four any week book a spot in the ITM Tour Playoffs, where another $10,000 BCBC seat is awarded at no cost to players. The house cut goes to Breeders’ Cup Charities.
This Friday: Saratoga Meets Del Mar
This week’s feeder gives you the best of both coasts. It’s a 10-race sequence — Saratoga’s Races 7 through 10 paired with Del Mar’s Races 3 through 8 — feeding into Saturday’s BCBC Qualifier, with the house cut again going to Breeders’ Cup Charities. Twenty bucks, two coasts, a real shot at a Breeders’ Cup seat. Get your name on the leaderboard.

Looking Ahead: The Road to the Travers
With the Haskell decided and Baby Vino now a Grade 1 winner, the 3-year-old picture turns toward Saratoga and the Travers on Aug. 29. Dual classic winner Golden Tempo is pointing that way off a minor setback, and the Mid-Summer Derby anchors one of the deepest days on the calendar — the Jerkens, Ballerina, Forego, and Personal Ensign all share the card. Plenty to chew on over the next five weeks.
Playing Today: Two Tuesday Options With Chance Rains
Presque Isle. Chance Rains is back with Tuesday’s eight-race card over the Erie tapeta (first post 3:30 p.m. ET). He’s coming off a maddening Lady Erie Day — he had the first four home in the feature, just in the wrong order, as Quiet Street ducked and weaved her way to the win — and looks to get back on track today.
