Nick Tammaro’s Aqueduct Analysis – Friday, April 2

AQUEDUCT – 4/2/2021

RACE 1: 2-4-1/1A

#2 FORTY TWO ACE has raced against the grain of inside biases in his last two starts, including a 4th place finish last time out.  He now gets a cozy inside draw and will offer value in a race that lacks a standout.

RACE 2: 6-1-3

#6 GRIT AND GLORY was scratched out of a 9f affair on Thursday afternoon and should be in stalk and pounce range this afternoon.  He has been against the grain of the track profile on multiple occasions of late, save that victory on February 21.

RACE 3: 4-7-1

#4 WINNING DRIVE drops in class after racing wide and against the grain of a strong bias last time out.  He starts for a barn that has had success here in the “big leagues” after beginning his career in the mid-Atlantic.

RACE 4: 3-6-5-10

To the turf!  #3 BRAZILIONAIRE is the one to beat following a game 3rd place finish last time out against tougher at Gulfstream.  He faces a typically weak bunch for this early in turf season and looms a prohibitive favorite.

RACE 5: 4-2-3

#4 TIMELY TRADITION was wide most recently on a surface where the rail was progressively stronger as the day wore on.  She cuts back to a more ideal distance here and is a deserving favorite.

RACE 6: 8-1/1A-5

#8 SINGAPORE TRADER is a better dirt horse, but is adept on both surfaces and is the controlling speed in this field.  Trainer Horacio DePaz is 21% with routers going dirt-to-turf ($2.46 ROI) and the favorites here are worthy of skepticism.

RACE 7: 3-2-1-5

#3 KANSAS KIS has been disadvantaged by wide trips against the grain of the surface in her last two and was unlucky last time out.  She should be moving well late, and if the rival to her inside and #5 PORTAL CREEK battle early, it will help her cause.

RACE 8: 2-5-4

#2 KIKKERLAND looms a heavy favorite as he drops in class for high percentage trainer Rob Atras.  He has speed and can be forwardly placed early facing much weaker than he has in his first three starts.

AQUEDUCT STATS: 246-62-42-30           $379.90
