Nick Tammaro’s Aqueduct Analysis – Friday, March 19

AQUEDUCT – 3/19/2021

RACE 1: 4-3-1

#4 DIRTY BIRD was hopelessly wide while racing against the grain of the racetrack.  She will need a slightly more aggressive ride in here given there’s precious little speed signed up.

RACE 2: 4-1-3

#4 TAKE IT OFF is a speedy daughter of Goldencents who should be actively involved from the start.  She raced on top of a hot pace last time out on the wrong part of the racetrack and looms a major player in here.

RACE 3: 3-5-6

#3 TOO EARLY was wide on the course last time out on a day where being inside was ideal.  He looks to be considerably better than his rivals in this spot and has the speed to be engaged from the outset.

RACE 4: 7-4-8

#7 VENUS OYZO is back on short rest for trainer Randi Persaud and takes an enormous drop in class.  She was wide the entire way last time out and the rail was absolutely the place to be that afternoon.

RACE 5: 8-4-5

#8 LARCENY fared well in his first try against N3L foes after clearing the N2L condition two starts back.  He is an off the pace type who’ll need things to heat up in the opening stages, and there’s a decent chance of that here.

RACE 6: 1-4-7

#1 EDGE OF FIRE returns off a poor effort on New Year’s Day, as he was never a factor at 7/2 against similar foes.  He has run two poor races recently, both of which came on surfaces with moisture, so he’s deserving of one more shot for a barn that has heated up significantly of late.

RACE 7: 9-6-5-1/1A

#9 NOCTILUCENT was along in time to break his maiden last time out and now lands in a modest field for his first try against winners.  This son of Honorable Dillon figures to be in an ideal stalking spot and there’s only one real pace player in this field.  That should help this gelding.

RACE 8: 4-5-6

#4 ERNIE BANKER takes the biggest class drop in racing for trainer John Kimmel and looks to be in a spot to clear the maiden ranks today.  He is versatile enough to get involved early should the pace turn up soft, and he was very close to the front in the early stages of his last outing.
