AQUEDUCT PICK 6 ANALYSIS – 12/12/2024
RACE 4: 3-5-2-6
#3 O P FIRECRACKER has the best long term form of any runner in here and now goes first off a claim for the barn of Wayne Potts. He is generally an off the pace type who’ll need things to heat up on the front end, though bug boy Christopher Elliott should be able to keep him closer early. That would help his chances a great deal.
RACE 5: 4-2-8-6
#4 PROUD FOOT is back off a layoff and drops in class for trainer Rick Dutrow, Jr. This barn has had a banner Aqueduct meet and the group this mare faced last time out was far tougher than what she meets here. The pace will work in her favor as she’s perfectly capable of sitting back to make one run, just as she did in December 2023.
RACE 6: 2-3-1-4
#2 PROVE WORTHY goes 2nd off a layoff for trainer Rob Falcone, Jr. and most recently started at this level. He is a late running type who’ll need the pace to heat up today. You’re going to get a good price here and he can save ground throughout. The price will be fair to boot in a competitive field.
RACE 7: 1-2-8-10
#1 MISS LAO goes 3rd off a claim and has moved forward significantly in two starts since being claimed by Dennis Lalman. She was up against it pace-wise last time out and should be able to save ground today in a faster paced race. If she can take another step forward in here she’ll be very tough to beat.
RACE 8: 2-7-3-6
#2 SUMMER CAUSE goes 3rd off a layoff in here and exits a strong effort where he tracked a very fast pace and stayed on gamely. He is better served sitting off the pace and should have the opportunity to do it with the early tempo expected to be solid in here. The price will be attractive as well third off a layoff.
RACE 9: 7-11-4-2
#7 TOMSCHICKENFINGERS was out of the gate very poorly last time out and spotted the field significant ground. He wound up making a big move to reach contention around the far turn. A cleaner break from the gate will make him tough to beat and there’s still some upside here given he’s lightly raced.
