AQUEDUCT ANALYSIS – 01/18/2025
RACE 1: 3-6-7-1
#3 WILD IRIS is the one to beat on a class drop second off a maiden win. She ran a solid race last time out when 5th at 8-1 and should fit well here from a class perspective. Any additional speed she shows will help her cause.
RACE 2: 5-7-1-6
A wide trip dogged #5 JANSSEN last time out as the rail was the place to be on the early part of that January 1 program. He should improve on the return to 9 panels and will benefit if able to get more involved in the opening stages of this affair.
RACE 3: 1A-7-5-3
There’s no bargain in the coupled entry here but #1A LA BANQUERA has a clean slate in search of an effort that even comes remotely close to her debut score. She is spotted realistically by her new trainer and gets first time Lasix, which often leads to marked improvement.
RACE 4: 4-6-3-2
It makes no sense why #4 ERIC FROM MIAMI would be entered here by Rick Dutrow, Jr. given he is eligible for a N2L claimer. It has to be construed as a positive and he should get some pace to run at here. Why not take a shot on a reasonable price play?
RACE 5: 7-6-2-3
#7 KING ANGELO might be better on wet tracks but deserves an opportunity here on a dry surface. He’s now in the care of Antonio Arriaga and can improve simply on that move. The outside draw is ideal and he’ll be the right price to gamble that the current run #6 TOXIC GRAY is on will end soon.
RACE 6: 7-2-1-5
#7 STJAMES is a late runner who’s moving in for a tag this afternoon. He had no shot last out given the class level and returns to a winnable spot here. His best races put him in range of the top runners in here and the price will be right.
RACE 7: 6-1A-4-2
#6 SILO RIDGE returns off a layoff today for Bill Mott after a pair of good efforts against N1X company early last year. He is a new gelding and should take nicely to the return to sprinting based on his maiden win in early December 2023.
RACE 8: 7-9-6-3
#7 MY SHERRONA can bounce back and beat #3 RAMIFY this afternoon. She ran the best race last out when second to that runner in the maiden ranks. Trainer Ray Handal is running her against stakes company as a maiden based on the potential shown in two prior starts.
RACE 9: 6-4-3-9
#6 CADA DIA MEJOR will be the best price of the win candidates here off a debut run where he made a big middle move. This barn has had a productive winter already and the rider today is on his own hot streak. Expect improvement with a race behind him today.
