AQUEDUCT ANALYSIS – 01/25/2025
RACE 1: 4-5-1-2
#4 FILM STAR enters off a win against stakes company for Linda Rice. He has the tactical speed to stay within range from the start and should have a clear target in this spot in #5 PHILEAS FOGG.
RACE 2: 1-6-2-7
#1 DEAR CHAIRMAN is a third time starter who should be able to improve here after chasing a fast pace last time out. He stands to improve with more experience and should be in a good spot early.
RACE 3: 7-2-1-6
#7 SOCIALLY SELECTIVE goes 2nd off a layoff after making her return from a layoff last time out at Gulfstream. She drew ideally on the outside to stalk the pace and pounce late. The improved Beyer speed figure she earned last time out signals she’s ready to step forward at 5.
RACE 4: 1-2-5-6
Trainer Linda Rice claimed #1 TRADE SECRET out of her last start and keeps her at the 15k level this afternoon. She has the tactical speed to deal with the rail draw and this barn excels off the claim. The price here should be fair as well.
RACE 5: 2-6-8-4
#2 MR. MENDELSSOHN enters off two solid efforts since moving back to the dirt for trainer John Toscano, Jr. He has enough speed to stay close to the pace this afternoon and he has taken to dirt quite nicely of late. Being involved early will only help his cause.
RACE 6: 3-5-6-1
#3 JUSTTHEFACTSJACK wired a field of MSW runners last time out and now returns off a lengthy break for Bruce Levine. She set a slow pace when victorious in May and will be on the engine again today. If she gets clear, she’ll be a threat to go the distance.
RACE 7: 6-5-1-8
#6 WAVE is a second time starter from the barn of Ray Handal who is in position to improve with a race behind her. She adds Lasix and blinkers after showing little on debut. She chased the pace wide before tiring and can improve here with experience.
RACE 8: 9-8-5-6
#9 REYNOLDS CHANNEL ran an improved race last time out returning from a brief layoff for trainer Bill Mott. If he steps up once again here he’ll be a major player. The best races this colt has run prior would undoubtedly make him quite formidable.
RACE 9: 6-1-9-10
#6 RADAUTI stepped up at second asking last time out for trainer Christophe Clement and still has plenty of upside. He showed a good late kick in that last start and now gets Lasix making his first start as a 3YO.
