BELMONT – 6/25/2021

RACE 1: 3-5-4-2

#3 ARROGANT LADY is a firster by the late Arrogate who appears to be training forwardly for her debut.  She is kin to sprint stakes winner Heartwood and is out of a stakes winning dam.  She is training forwardly for a barn that did tremendously well with 2YOs in 2020.

RACE 2: 2-4-7-8

#2 MULTIPLE EXPANSION is training well for his dirt debut after a poor effort on the turf at first asking.  He is bred to handle dirt without issue and should be a square price in a weaker than par 25k maiden claimer for NY breds.

RACE 3: 5-4-3

#5 MALIBU CURL goes 2nd off a layoff and was wide on the course last time out.  The rail was the place to be that afternoon and this daughter of Curlin took the worst of it.  That was her first start off a lengthy break and she likely needed it to be at her best for this engagement.

RACE 4: 1-6-9-10

#1 KNOCKOUT PUNCH was claimed by Wayne Potts out of his last start for 30k and now moves up a notch up the class ladder.  Potts has been very good off the claim in NY and this one will benefit from going an extra furlong today.

RACE 5: 2-6-1

#2 PRIMARY COLORS is a firster by American Pharoah out of a stakes-winning dam.  This colt has been training forwardly for the unveiling and should have some speed if the clocker reports give any indication.

RACE 6: 12-4-5-8

#12 EMPRESS OF WAR is by 16% turf sire Declaration of War and is out of an unraced dam who produced one turf winning sibling.  The second dam was a multiple turf winner who was also stakes-placed, and this filly showed big speed on debut.  She should be in the mix throughout.

RACE 7: 7-1-4

#7 SHOTSKI is a Grade II winner who has fallen on hard times and is now in for 50k once again.  This colt raced wide throughout his last start and understandably tired late.  He should be the controlling speed today with a sparkling worktab since that last performance.

RACE 8: 2-1-6-4

When it comes to foreign shippers in non-stake turf routes, trainer Chad Brown is 4 for his last 7.  That’s the category that #2 AMY C fits into as she returns off a brief break for this new barn . She was a handy victor going long on the synthetic in Fance and should have no issue with turf.  The meet’s top pilot takes the call.

RACE 9: 1-6-3-8

#1 QIAN B C returns off a layoff for trainer Charlton Baker and has run numerous races that make him competitive in this affair.  He should get some pace to run at and he was compromised when last seen by being too close to the front against a tough field.  The 1st and 3rd place finishers have since returned to win from that affair.
