SUNSET SIX – 1/15/2026
LEG A, RACE 8 – GULFSTREAM PARK
SELECTIONS: 7-1-5-6
I have a contract with #7 BABY BLOCKS, who was a hard luck 3rd last February before winning next time out. She was unlucky last time out when 2nd against similar, including one of the favorites in here. The pace should set up well for her in this spot and she is going to be a square price once again. Use #1 BEEN BUSYas well, as she looks to tackle tougher off a maiden win on debut for Todd Pletcher.
LEG B, RACE 9 – GULFSTREAM PARK
SELECTIONS: 3-1-5-2
There’s a good case to be made you can take a stand here with #3 VUELA PALOMA. She was claimed for the third time in four starts last time out. Her last effort was a victory, as she sat just off the pace and powered clear late. Trainer Victor Barboza, Jr. has a 42% strike rate with synthetic sprinters first off of claims ($3.38 ROI) and the trip should be similar for this daughter of Valiant Minister this afternoon.
LEG C, RACE 10 – GULFSTREAM PARK
SELECTIONS: 8-1-12-6
#8 NO BILLS CAMPAIGN goes 2nd off a layoff for trainer Kent Sweezey after showing speed last time out. He is now the one to catch stretching out to a route of ground and will be forwardly placed again here. The first race he ran was on this surface and he ran his best race to date from a speed figure perspective. Anything resembling that effort would lead to a photo being taken this afternoon. Use the logical favorites as well that book-end this field.
LEG D, RACE 7 – SANTA ANITA PARK
SELECTIONS: 4-6-2-1
#4 GALLAND DE BESOS is a live longshot who returns from a break for Jesus Ramos and gets back to his preferred surface. He’s a late running son of Golden Son who will get some pace to run at late. If things heat up on the front end, he’s a major threat to get a share of this at a price. #6 WARM SUN AND BREW ran a credible race sprinting to begin his career and should be a player today on the cutback.
LEG E, RACE 8 – SANTA ANITA PARK
SELECTIONS: 8-2-6-4
The optics of a horse like #8 BIG CELEBRATION being taken for 20k then being in for 8k three starts later stink. However, she fits this race well with her tactical speed and should be a major threat from the outset. There’s enough back form to make her a focal point in this race, and the 7/2 morning line would constitute value from my perspective. #2 MISTY DANCER is a tad interesting as well given she’s a late runner who elevated her game last time out. You’ll have to take a fraction of the 63-1 price she was last time out, but she fits well here with a major jockey upgrade to boot.
LEG F, RACE 9– SANTA ANITA PARK
SELECTIONS: 4-2-1-5
#4 BIG BILL stretches out in distance after running a good race last time out despite some real trouble. The runner-up from her last came back to win and earn a 73 Beyer Speed Figure (he’s also in the 7th race today). This gelding should be more forwardly placed, and he gets a pass for tiring two starts back given the strength of the pace that afternoon.
Main Ticket: 1,7 with 1,3,5 with 1,8,12 with 4,6 with 8 with 2,4 = $72 for $1
Good luck!

[…] Multi-race wagers live and die by structure, and this Sunset Six breakdown is about building a sequence that can survive chaos. The angle is practical: where to stand strong with a single, where to spread and buy coverage, and how to balance budget against volatility. Bettors can use this as a framework even if they disagree with the horses, because it teaches discipline about ticket construction. The best sequences are not always the ones that hit, they are the ones that are logically built and priced for the risk. The Sunset Six guide is at In The Money Podcast. […]
