Pegasus was rough day to say the least for myself, I almost bought a Pegasus seat yesterday morning last minute as my late opinions had obviously became to confident in my head. Luckily I did not.. The the early P5 which I thought was very tough, I managed to find the right horses in tough races. Hopefully some read yesterday old Workout Info and was able to profit a little from those. I had entered several $2 mythical Pick and Pray over on Horse Tourneys after Race 6 I was winning everything. Oh how quickly that went away lol…. I rarely downgrade good quality stakes types due to post position but yesterday has me rethinking that one and nor have I ever been a fan of the Jockey Bashing on Twitter or other platforms. I have never ridden a race but I have ridden performance horses all my life, stuff happens fast. I always thought I can’t critique these guys, that is a tough job but yesterday there was some horrible rides. After destroying my ROI for the start of 23′ moving on, VENT OVER …
Short Note for Race 11 -Tough MSW that is naturally a spread race but if you need to narrow it down #9 Mrs Astor – If you are not a replay watcher, Go watch this ones last race. Horse will not be 5-1, although several in the race have a reason to improve to beat this one. I will be singling here in some tickets and playing a 9 over 10 Exacta for a small amount.
Race 10 – Older F/M 1 Mile on Turf – Several Need the lead types here so definitely pay attention to any scratches.
1 (A) Traffic Song appears to be fast enough to get lead from rail here, Not exactly sure what the 2 will do. If she is not pressured could be tough to catch she was nailed in her last by Sweet Enough who was a disappointment yesterday. Second off bench and slightly cutting back.
2 Starship Nala is a half to Starship Jubilee but in 34 starts she has only tried routing on the turf twice and neither attempt went well. She has speed and her presence alone could be an issue for the Traffic Song.
3 Frippet (SCRATCH) just does not fit here, even with Jose onboard she would have to improve significantly.
4 (B) Ready Lady is the price horse that I want to include in my multi’s. She is half to Lady Speightspeare making her first start at Gulfstream and I think she will like the Surface. After breaking her maiden she went in the Natalma over Turf listed as GD, The June 25 race at Woodbine was very fast but she did have a perfect trip and that long stretch to get up. There is enough here I would hate to invest much in the C2C or Pick6 and let this one beat me.
5 Join The Dance has made 10 starts for Casse and has yet to see the Turf course? There is unknowns here that make this one a wildcard and has big work popping out at you. Not sure what to do with this one but I might just let this one beat me. Casse Trained / Saez / Barber / has speed / a lot to like but enough to dislike as well.
6 (A) Fast as Flight was a bit unlucky trying to break her maiden running into nice horses over and over, She has had good trips nearly every try and comes up short a lot. Will have to use her as an A but nothing to get excited about.
7 (C) Free Data(I wish) So did Chad take Irad off the 8? I have no idea…. But Irad lands here, If you throw on the races not on the Turf looks a ton better and best races were from coming off the pace. Her maiden breaker she won fairly easy closing into a fast pace. Hate to leave this off Tickets but hard to use them all and if you take the jockey chasing out of the scenario would I even be discussing this one?? May just toss this one and take the chance I was wrong.
8 (A) Lady Day makes her 3rd Start in the US, I can toss the 1 1/8th and just look to her last here at Gulfstream where she had some slight traffic issues and late in stretch Traffic Song drifted out while holding her off for second. I can’t say she 100% would have got by Traffic Song there but would have been close. I would think she would be the favorite here at post time.
9 (SCRATCH) Love in the Air has speed, outside post and Paco so definitely should be factor in the pace of the race. She gets on the Gulfstream Turf for only the second time, ML of 5-1 I don’t think will hold. I would expect this one to drift up significantly. I will pass on this PA bred, The few Firm turf races she has ran just not enough to catch me attention.
Top Pick 8 Lady Day If I wager anything into this particular race it will only be a small Double R10 – 8 R11 – 9
