Race 7 MSW – Some with big price tags….
Game Change makes his 4th start and did everything right in his last, Simply was slow.
(A) Tshiebwe Is the one I want of the two Pletcher’s. Making his 3rd start but 1st since moving into Pletcher’s barn, He finished well on debut then the Blinkers were added and he had decent speed in his second start when he ran into Extra Anejo finishing well clear of 3rd. DEC 31st Work he was slight best over Cuvier who won his Debut on Jan 14th.
(A) Expect More should go off favored after being took down from his win on Dec 31st when he shied at stick off turn and bmp into the horse that took him to the wire. DQ aside He stayed on and finished well being caught late in sluggish fashion. Pletcher adds blinkers today trying to improve this one. Also was drilled by Arabian Knight breeders cup weekend, but when you lose by 13L does it really matter….. Recent Big Workmate of Tapit Trice.
Secret Pockets debut was not horrible as it looks, stayed out extremely wide outpaced early and responded when asked just had nothing left at 1/4 pole.
Southern Dream last looks better than it was on paper, slow race and hung on left lead entire stretch and was well back Expect More.
(B) Global Pride is stretching out after a decent 7F try at CD staying on well and galloping out decently. Trainer (3rd St Dirt Rte MSW) – 1 for 6. Jan 22 had a Maintenance type work with Mage who won on debut Pegasus Day, Mage had several nice works coming into his debut and was ignored. I suspect this one will be as well.
Carsown debuts for a barn who does not start many routing on Dirt. Although barn is 2 for 8 in that scenario. Key to me here is Zayas not coming out the jock’s room for this one.
Tiger’s Legacy gets Jose on barn does is 0 for 5, 1st timers routing on Dirt. Would imagine needs a race or two..
I prefer the (2)Tshiebwe slightly over (3)Expect More and neither of these have been overly impressive. So the (6) Global Pride will be on all my Multi-race tickets.
