AQUEDUCT – 3/7/2024

RACE 1: 2-4-5-1

#2 PROPRIETARY TRADE took some money in a loaded MSW race at GP on debut.  He now ships northward for trainer Chad Brown and stays at the six furlong trip.  A son of Practical Joke, this colt should have speed to offer and he’ll need it in a solid looking event for this level this time of year.

RACE 2: 6-1A-3-7

#6 COLLECT DATTT is a player second off a layoff after showing some life first time on conventional dirt last time out.  She still has upside after the barn and surface changes and this field is wide open following the scratch of #4 WILL BE FAMOUS.  Look for this filly to be in stalk and pounce range from the start.

RACE 3: 3-5-1A-7

It is worth taking a swing against #5 TALKIN PHAROAH this afternoon and #3 BIG SAVE looks like the best alternative.  That son of The Big Beast has speed and has been in good form of late.  The runner-up from his last has since won two races and this gelding seems to fit well at this class level.

RACE 4: 5-3-6

With the scratch of #1 JAXIMUS, the nod goes to the favorite, #5 COMPUTE IT.  That son of Cloud Computing has run well enough in two prior starts to be a heavy favorite here.  He has tactical speed and was hurt by a slow pace last time out.

RACE 5: 4-1-6-5

#4 STRESS RELIEVER is a second time starter who made up some late ground on debut sprinting here at Aqueduct.  Trainer Chad Brown is 37% with second time starters in MSW dirt routes ($2.91) at the Big A.  This filly should improve enough to get the job done here as a heavy favorite.

RACE 6: 2-3-4-1

#2 SWIFTSURE is the one to catch here from the inside off a solid runner-up finish against the razor sharp Twenty Four Mamba.  The lead is his for the taking this afternoon and he will be very tough to beat if left alone on the front end.  Many of his best races have come here at the Big A throughout his career.

RACE 7: 3-7-5-1

#3 VIRTUAL REALITY returns from a layoff today for trainer Chad Brown after a dull fourth place finish in her final start of 2023.  The time away could help this filly who had an inconsistent campaign last year.  She has enough tactical speed to be a threat from the start and this field has been hurt by scratches.

RACE 8: 3-2-4-7

#3 BAR FOURTEEN can wire this bunch in another race hurt by scratches.  If he is able to get the lead this afternoon he will be a major threat to go the distance.  His best races are good enough to win this and he has ample speed.
