BELMONT AT THE BIG A PICK 6 ANALYSIS – 10/26/2024
RACE 1: 3-1-4-6
#3 ATLAL debuted late last month at Churchill Downs and was disadvantaged by racing on the slower inside paths. He caught a wet track that night as well and should improve with a race behind him and the move to NY. The rail runner in here is the horse to beat by a mile but this is the interesting alternative at a price.
RACE 2: 7-1-3-4
#7 ROAGNA was a good 4th last time out in a slow paced race that strongly stayed together on the front end. She should improve here with some suspect speed horses signed up and she has been a steady performer throughout her career so far. This is the spot for her to get her second win this afternoon.
RACE 3: 5-3-1
#5 DIGITAL OPS was a non-factor last time out and now looks to rebound in his 3rd try against N1X competition. He should get a good trip stalking the pace on the outside and will be the second choice in a race where the favorite has question marks.
RACE 4: 1-3-9-4
#1 KENNY BE ran well on debut and should improve with a race behind him. He showed good speed in that affair and will be a tough customer with routine improvement off that outing. The rail draw is no big issue for this son of Complexity, whose progeny have been very good early in their careers.
RACE 5: 9-10-2-1
#9 WILLINTORISKITALL is the horse to beat on the return to grass after a solid enough run in an off the turf event last time out. He has the tactical speed to stay within range this afternoon and the Thorograph figures he earned 2 and 3 starts back were easily good enough to take top honors in this spot.
RACE 6: 2-4-7-11
There’s an opportunity for a price horse here with #2 NOD TO TRAN, who stretches out in distance off a 3rd place finish at second asking. He goes two turns for the first time, has an aggressive pilot and an inside post, so there’s reason to believe he can get to the front. If left alone there he is a major threat to go the distance.
RACE 7: 5-7-1-2
#5 MY BUDDY B returns off a try in the Phoenix against top notch competition. He never made the lead in there and chased the pace before tiring. This is a spot where he can take a step forward against softer competition. The ability to stalk and pounce makes him a major threat here at a square price.
RACE 8: 7-2-4-1
#7 COASTAL MISSION was wide the entire way last time out and still stayed on well enough to win the Parx Dirt Mile. He should be a strong late player in this spot and will get some pace to run at in the late stages. The price should be fair as well in a super competitive affair. His consistency is beyond remarkable.
RACE 9: 1-3-4-6
#1 DUDE N COLORADO is the one to catch from the inside but has to figure out how to negotiate the additional sixteenth of a mile here. He draws well inside and should have no issue getting to the top under Joel Rosario. Whether he gets any early competition is going to go a long way towards determining his finishing position.
RACE 10: 5-3-6-7
#5 GUN SONG is a total cinch in here. She comes in off a strong effort in the Cotillion where she fought Thorpedo Anna all the way to the finish and now looms the main speed in a compact field. Her best races are significantly better than what the balance of this field has put forth so expect her to win rather handily.
RACE 11: 2-4-9-3
#2 DISCO STAR made a big wide move into the stretch on debut to finish second at 7-1. That came during a stretch when Mark Casse’s barn was on a roll but this filly still looms a major threat here. She is clearly at her best when able to sit back and make one run, and the pace should set up well for her in this affair.
