RACE 1: 4-2-6-1A
#4 TOSCONOVA BEAUTY is a candidate to move forward off a slightly improved effort last time out. She was compromised by a wide trip on a surface where the rail was the place to be, and she now gets a rider upgrade in search of a first Aqueduct win. Look for her late in the game at a price.
RACE 2: 3-2-1
#3 WAYS AND MEANS bids for another graded stake score after getting her first in the Test last time out. She was a heavy favorite despite never winning a stake race prior, and now looms a heavy favorite. Her draw outside of the main speed is ideal given that she wants to stalk and pounce from the outset.
RACE 3: 8-11-3
#8 HURRICANE NELSON may have finally found the right spot to break his maiden after multiple failures at short prices. He will be a heavy favorite on the surface switch and should be able to get the early lead. Should he get to the front in the opening stages he’ll be tough to wear down late.
RACE 4: 1-5-6-8
#1 HIGH HEAT is dropping in class shipping in for Wayne Potts and lures Irad Ortiz, Jr. for this engagement. He has enough speed to stay within range from the start breaking from the rail and he needn’t improve off his last two to have a major say in the outcome today.
RACE 5: 2-15-5-1
#2 FRIZZANTE is coming in with strong recent form and now goes first off a claim by Michelle Nevin. He has tactical speed to stay within range from the start in this affair and the main competition in here is coming back off a long layoff.
RACE 6: 12-11-1-8
#12 JOKER ON FIRE has shown enough in two prior starts to be given a lengthy look today. The outside draw is no worry given the track evened out last week in terms of the prolonged profile we saw earlier in the week.
RACE 7: 3-5-8-9
The trip hurt #3 BAD LARRY last time out as he was wide much of the way on an afternoon where you wanted to save ground. He now gets Irad Ortiz, Jr. in search of redemption and figures to be in a great spot stalking the pace.
RACE 8: CANCELLED
RACE 9: 16-14-8
#16 RUNNIN’ RAY was sharp last time out winning against weaker and now figures to be the second choice behind a heavy favorite. He can be a major threat here with his tactical speed and the price will be fair.
